My self-summary
To me, the most important value that a person can have is empathy. If you genuinely consider how the opposite person is feeling, then you've won more than half the battle. I love having philosophical discussions and thrive in ambiguity. Makes for more interesting conversation :-)

Other things:
- Like to dance and do karaoke (both bar and shower varieties)
- Former ENTJ, now ENFJ
- I feel like I live my life as though I am in a sitcom with a live studio audience. That probably explains why I started a YouTube channel. Oh and if you like short, vine-style comedy, check my channel out here: https://www.youtube.com/c/downtimefuntime
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to enjoy every second of it. Also trying to be ambitious, and balancing the desire to on the one hand "make it rain" (is that what kids call it these days) and to on the other hand "save the world" (is that what kids call it these days).

I used to be a recovering finance guy, now I've fallen into a different vice: startup growth. Yeah, I know.
I’m really good at
- Being sarcastic
- Herpderping
- Being comforting
- Explaining things to people using metaphors and comparisons (fobby moms are good practice for using simple explanations)
- Being a rational person (well, at least I try to be)
- Using parentheses (it's a little excessive)
The first things people usually notice about me
Appearance: babyface
Interacting with me: likes to be sarcastic
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I usually prefer non-fiction but I recently got into fiction. The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest were pretty good. Solaris was good too.

Movies: I like "smartly" written movies with good dialogue and fast pacing. Infernal Affairs (1 and 2), Catch Me If You Can, The Dark Knight, Inception, Intersteller, Star Trek (the new ones), and the new Marvel/Avenger movies.

Shows: nowadays, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, and other intelligently written dramas. But! To fill up the light-hearted desires, iZombie is quite an underrated show, with a great concept and feel-good comedy.

Food: I pretty much eat everything and anything. Favorites include Chinese, Vietnamese (good pho, vermicelli, and banh mi, anyone?), Italian, Japanese (ramen, katsu curry, and sushi), and some self-shucked oysters (it's both fun AND delicious). Best burrito = Tacqueria Cancun, please don't argue with me on that. Oh, and I frickin' love creamy / cheesy stuff. I finally settled the question for myself: In-N-Out's burger is put together much better, Shake Shack's has the better taste. But both are delicious (screw Five Guys).

Music: Generally grew up with hip hop (I've discovered I like double-time rapping) and mainstream R&B, but anything with a good dance beat and rhythm works as well. If Boyz II Men gives you nostalgia, you and I will get along very well. If I say the song title "My Boo", and you think Ghost Town DJ's and not Alicia Keys, then super mega bonus points. If a song's got a Timbaland or a Swizz Beatz beat (by the way, how the hell did he land Alicia Keys), I'm sure I can rock out to it. My favorite lyricist is Eminem. Pleasant songs with a nice melody are great to mellow out to. Sprinkle some techno for mindless chilling, some old motown sounds, Shigeru Umebayashi, and some Asian songs, and you've pretty much got my music folder. I love hearing throwbacks on the radio. I generally like good lyricists and good voices. And of course, can't forget the classic karaoke songs (ohhhhhh we're halfway there, whooaa ok that's enough). I'm pretty open but I shy away from metal and that kind of stuff (can't Dougie to it).
The six things I could never do without
Internet
People to enjoy experiences with
Time to myself
"Singing"
Laughter
Internet
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Non-existent movies and different characters that play in them. I'm talking epic movies. Guess I like to do mental role-playing in my head. I'm weird.

Standing in front of an audience as a stand-up comic and watching the whole world laugh.
On a typical Friday night I am
Finding ways to meet new people or have great conversation, whether at a board-game night, bar, dance scene, get-together, or anything else.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I say things or mouth a conversation to myself, then when I get caught I pretend I'm singing.
You should message me if
You use Oxford commas.

You can do that thing during a conversation where you react to that stupid thing I just said with an exasperated sigh/smile and saying "I hate you" when you meant "I love you".
