My self-summary
Oh these self-summaries have got my name written all over them!
Not actually. Give me time.
And a crayon.

I am unapologetically nerdy.

Y'know, this kind of thing is a lot more interesting to talk about on the fly isn't it? Really, if you want to know just ask. It's more fun that way anyhow.

And for that matter...Aren't all of these questions a self-summary anyway? I see your game...I'm leaving.

Myers Briggs: Ravenclaw
What I’m doing with my life
At the moment? Filling out an essay. Why?
I also get by as the almost least sexy photographer ever. Just above commercial food picture taker. But right below those guys who take the old timey saloon photos of you in a corset sitting on a player piano. Going places. Meeting people. Getting in adventures. That's my thing.
If I could have any job ever? Professional voice actor who also happens to have written the great american novel.

I also have an absolute blast hosting pub trivia once a week. Tuesday nights, come and say hi!
I’m really good at
Pub Trivia. Like...really reallly good. You don't even know.

Also Teaching. Writing. Drawring. Forgetting things.

Yes. Seriously.
The first things people usually notice about me
I think I'm a little too quiet when I first meet people. But I like it that way. Makes me seem charming.

I really don't know how to small talk. I'm just plain bad at it. But give me a little time to warm up and I'm practically bursting with interestingness.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Just the first that come into my head for each category:

Winnie the Pooh, Hitchhiker's Guide, Anything by Neil Gaiman or Vonnegut. Patrick Rothfuss is so good it makes me angry. Hunter S. Thompson. Ready Player One. And Harry Potter. And I might know a thing or two about comics.

Ghostbusters, Love Actually, The Blue Brothers (because Cab mothereffing Callway). The Big Lebowski, Casablanca. Zombieland. I've also got a thing for Animation. Not just hipster b.s. either. Pixar is amazing. And Spirited Away. And The Iron Giant, because "Superman". Although I'm afraid I can't watch the Iron Giant with you. In the interest of preserving an illusion of masculinity as long as possible.

Has anyone ever seen the movie Heavyweights? Anyone? Was that a dream I had? Ben Stiller was there. As well as like half the cast of Mighty Ducks. It was great.

And those random documentaries you find on Netflix.

Doctor Who is the greatest anything in the history of ever. And Q.I. is equally good.
Additionally: Mythbusters, Mitchell and Webb, Top Gear, Archer, Sherlock, Firefly, Cowboy Bebop, MST3K, Peaky Blinders.
Currently watching: Parks and Rec- Yeah, I'm late to the party. Totally worth it though. I wanna find the April to my Andy. Words to live by.

And the New Cosmos! I love Niel DeGrasse Tyson just as much as I love Carl Sagan. And Brian Cox too.

Does NPR count as music? It should. I also love that old, crazy, terribly recorded jazz. The kind they play on 88.5 at 2 in the morning. Other than that I'll listen to anything from Tom Waits to Dessa.

I listen to a lot of podcasts when I run and work. This American Life is the best! But you should also check out Welcome to Nightvale, Wits, The Thrilling Adventure Hour, StarTalk, and Limetown. And if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them! I guess I treat podcasts the way normal people treat music.

And I LOVE live Theatre. I will go to any performance of anything.
My happy places are theaters, zoos, aquariums, and museums.

I really like to cook, particularly love baking.
The six things I could never do without
The Internets. Teaching. Family...uhhh let's say books, a game or two aaand...whimsy.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
um. dinosaurs.
On a typical Friday night I am
Figuring out what to do with my Friday night. Then going to bed.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm afraid of fish.
You should message me if
You wouldn't mind a guy who would go gay for Stephen Fry.

If you tend to treat a date more like a job interview, maybe I'm not the "young professional" you're looking for. However, on the other side of that coin- I'm really not looking for a "manic pixie dream girl". I'm very playful and lighthearted, sure, but we're going to need to be able to hold a conversation like big kids. You won't "complete me". I'm quite complete thank you. I'm just looking for a partner to match. Someone normal and boring would be just fine!

And seriously if you want to take me out for some Pub Trivia that would be all kinds of banana-pancakes-awesome.
