I’m a kid at heart with a good head on my shoulders. I try to not take things so seriously, though I know when to buckle down and get to business. I’m a hopeless romantic at heart, even when I’m not actively showing it. I love adventure and the thrill of it, and find adventure everywhere: in the everyday, in fiction, at Disneyland, at other theme parks, in the homes of friends, in the home of family, in the spirit of the holiday seasons, in a board game or video game played with others; in all sorts of places. I’m the kind of person that loves learning all sorts of things, though the one thing I value most when it comes to learning is the written word; I’ve been studying it since 2005, and grow more fascinated by it with each passing day. I’m also a writer, and will write anything, in nearly every format, at least once. I’m also a big reader, and will read nearly every book at least once; name a book, and I’ve read it and, if I haven’t, I’ll want to.
I’m a pretty easy guy to understand and get to know, though I tend to listen more than speak; been that way my whole life. As I said, I love learning, and that includes other people as well. The best way to get to know me is to simply ask; it surprises a lot of people when I’ll answer any question put to me as honestly as I’m able.
I’m a long term kind of person, so I’m looking for someone who’s not only a good partner, but someone I want to be with even after the “first month glow” is gone. Someone who I can enjoy being with, no matter what we’re doing, be it an exciting date out or a quiet night in. Someone who’s my best friend, and whom I can feel like I can share anything with.
I've also been taken advantage of a great deal, and have been lead on by women many times. Compounded that with the above, and I tend to move a bit slowly. I'm looking for a friend first, and, with a little luck, something more.
This profile’s long enough, let’s move on, ya’?
I’m witty, silly, enjoy saying, “Allons-y”, and I’m legen-wait for it...
My father had been sick for a good number of years, and after a lot of family discussion, we all decided that I should move in with my folks again to alleviate some of the stress of care-taking from my mom and to help take care of my dad. Unfortunately, he died earlier this year.
Still healing slowly from continuous familial, platonic, and romantic tragedies, I'm making powerful moves to move out and go back to school to get my MFA in Creative Writing or English, with the hope of starting a career in editing, while writing on the side for fun and profit.
I'm attempting to move out into Orange County, which is why I've set it as my current location. Just thinking ahead.
In the meantime, I'm spending time with family and friends, and usually hanging out at either Disneyland or at a local board game shop, meeting new people, playing board games, and being as nerdy as I can be.
I'm a half-way decent teacher. From what others have told me, I'm really approachable when it comes to learning a new subject that I can teach someone.
I’m also pretty good at making others laugh. I’m no comedian, but I enjoy making others laugh, and can usually do so easily.
I’m a fantastic listener. I love listening to others, and I find other people fascinating.
I’m a voracious reader; hand me a book and I’ll read it. I might not like it, but I’ll read it. I’ll read anything at least once, even if I dislike it once I get through it (yes, I read the first of the Twilight series and Fifty Shades of Grey series, and both make me foam at the mouth with hatred, but I read ‘em). I have to say that Alice in Wonderland and other works from Lewis Carroll are my favorites. Good way to get on my bad side is hop on the misinformed bandwagon and claim that Alice in Wonderland was written on or inspired by or about shrooms, acid, and other drugs. Simple Google search turns up so much to the contrary; the Internet’s amazing. Moving on.
I love movies to the point where I’ll constantly re-watch my favorites. A good night in for me is curling up on the couch with a nice glass of wine and watching a movie. I’ll watch practically anything, save for Jaws, Misery, and The Exorcist. I can dig scary movies (never gorn though; looking at you Saw and The Human Centipede), though jump scares will always get me, by hook or crook.
I usually don’t watch TV, but I’ve recently gotten into a few shows thanks to the magic of Netflix and Hulu. I really like Whose Line is It Anyway?, Psych, The Big Bang Theory, and How I Met Your Mother. I'm also a very big Doctor Who fan. It's as brilliant as it is cheesy, and I love it. Doctor Who is good times; I’d recommend it if you’re a sci-fi gal.
I’ll listen to any kind of music at least once, though I tend to stay away from country and rap. I don’t really have any hatred towards either, it’s just not my preference, ya’? I’d have to say my favorite band is Tally Hall, a self described “quirky rock” band; they’re brilliant.
I love eating (who doesn’t?)! Sadly, I can’t cook to save my soul, but I love watching others cook. Funny how my imagination runs ahead of me on a page, and is stifled in a kitchen. Besides a few food aversions, I’ll eat nearly anything you put in front of me.
I’m usually thinking about an idea for a piece of writing I’m working on. When an idea takes me, I'm somewhere else, wrestling around with it, trying to find different ways to make the idea work on paper.
I might be at Disneyland too. I've an annual pass, which is a phenomenal excuse to head over there as often as I can.
Other than that, I may be at home, watching something on Netflix or Hulu and just unwinding from the week.
That being said, don't expect kinky sex or any sex out of the gate. I only sleep with people I care about deeply, and that's going to take some time. While sex is casual in its way, I'm not into casual sex or one night stands; nothing wrong with them, it's just not my style.
How kinky? Think 50 Shades of Grey. Terrible book, but you get the idea.
If you're a Doctor Who or Harry Potter fan, we're probably going to be good friends very easily.
if you're a fan of Disneyland, do us both a favor and send me a message. If you're a fan of Disneyland and have an annual pass, let's skip the pretense and go have fun in the parks! I'll always be in the market for new friends to go to Disneyland with.
Also, feel free to send me a message if you managed to get through this whole thing. I’ve got quite a gob when it comes to writing, so ten points to your favorite Hogwarts House for getting through this whole thing, ya’?
