My self-summary
This part always leaves me a paralytic mess. I think I'll just pass on this for now.
What I’m doing with my life
Settling into having a career. Cycling about. Drinking scotch. Eating delicious foods. Warding off nascent insanity. Playing games. Not sleeping enough. Wondering why I don't paint anymore.
I’m really good at
Being laid back, enjoying good food and good spirits, remembering random facts. I'm also really good at programming, problem solving, plying reason and experience to what I hope is great effect. Loving octopuses; they are seriously rad in an almost uncomfortable way.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm a huge nerd. I pretty much ooze nerdliness. Kudos if you dig nerds.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Dune, Einstein's Dreams, The Road, Naked Lunch, The Brothers Karamazov, The Trial, Steppenwolf, Catch 22, Feynman's Lectures on Physics, Neuromancer, The Windup Bird Chronicles, The Unbearable Lightness of Being

Movies: Moon, Apocalypse Now, Zombie Land, Shawshank Redemption, Blade Runner, There Will Be Blood, Jackie Brown, Amelie, The Royal Tenenbaums, Broken Flowers, The Children of Men, Fitzcaraldo, Rashomon, Tokyo Story, Delicatessen, Saftey Not Guaranteed

Music: Radio Head, Metric, Arcade Fire, Janelle Monae, Talking Heads, Rilo Kylie, The New Pornagraphers, Zoe Keating, Sigur Ros, The Young Knives, The Shins, NPR (news, talk radio, Radio Lab.. swoon)

Food: sushi, brick oven pizza, fallafel, ramen, Diner (the restaurant, what is that? new American?), pretty much anything that isn't random organs or feet... bacon

I'm currently reading and loving Infinite Jest. I also watch a lot of documentaries.
The six things I could never do without
I don't know about things I can't do without, but here are six (seven) things that keep me happy and sane:
Friends, Work, Scotch, Cycling, Programming, Books/Music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Philosophy, mostly about how things work, the way of things, thingedness. When I'm going through my NPR kicks I think about economics, politics, and such like that. The rest is left to thinking about work; how to build elegant systems; how to keep work interesting.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out for a drink with friends, watching documentaries, cycling about.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a ridiculous tattoo that I totally regret. I think of it endearingly as a reminder of past indiscretions. One day I plan to cover it with some form of aquatic life (Octopus.. swoon).
You should message me if
