I hate driving. Nowhere is too far to walk if I have the time, and if I don't have the time, I'd still rather take my bike.
My best features are my beaten and scarred legs.
I'm proud to be hiker trash.
I should have my AS in Environmental Science within a year and then I'll be sending out lots of resumes and riding, paddling, and hiking my way from Key West, FL to Katahdin, ME while I wait for the job offers to come pouring in.
I work as a bike mechanic to pay the bills.
I spend the little free time I have outdoors and its never enough.
Going outside and staying out there until lots of time and miles are behind me, and all the skills that come with that. Flying by the seat of my pants. Dealing with it. Goin for it. Pushing on. Laughing through the worst. Hitchhiking from/to the middle of nowhere. Finding the perfect spot to camp. Sleeping in swamps. Sleeping on rocks. Sleeping behind gas stations.
I quit music.
Trying to eat less meat. Trying to eat more real food.
Tiny houses and moving cross country by bike are things I look forward to.
Day hikes, long distance backpacking, trail-running, road/mountain biking, on and off-road touring, kayaking, canoeing... you get the idea.
If Type 2 fun is the only kind of fun you know.
I would flip if I met another long distance hiker here.
Seriously, doesn't anyone else want to get away?
