My self-summary
I'm involved in my community and enjoy working for progressive political and social justice causes. I have a job I love, even if it can be exhausting, helping people.

I am a bit geeky and like to read and play board games with friends or go camping or just out for a bike ride. I go camping several times a year and enjoy the break from day to day life and spending some time with friends and kids out on the woods.
What I’m doing with my life
What am I am I doing with my life?
Well, I’m enjoying it. I find I am rather happy with my life. I recently changed careers and I'm loving it.

I’m not naturally an extrovert but I don’t want to sit on the sidelines and hope life will come to me. I’m going to go out there and see what it looks like. My work can be very stressful and when it is done I want to enjoy my time as much as possible.

I like to take on art project, sewing, painting, etc.
I’m really good at
Flower arranging.
Maybe a better thing to say is I really enjoy having friends over and cooking for them. I love to go out dancing. I like to paint and sew and whatever crafty thing I’m doing at the moment.
The first things people usually notice about me
People usually say my eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read mostly SF/ fantasy. A lot of Heinlein, Robin McKinley, Catherine Asaro, Anne Bishop, Frank Herbert or whom ever else
strikes my fancy at the moment. I also like to read about politics and history and historical fiction. My favorite books run the gamut from Dune to Pride and Prejudice to Dispatches.

As for movies: The Constant Gardener, Velvet Goldmine, Empire of the Sun, Lawrence of Arabia, Strictly Ballroom, Dune, and Blade Runner.

I don't watch much TV but I do love West Wing, The Newsroom, Babylon 5 and Firefly.

I love to cook and have people over. I like to eat and make all kinds of food but I do not like spicy foods. But I make very good pie.
Six things I could never do without
Things I would not want to do without:

Good books
Good friends
Music and audio books
The outdoors
And ‘Wait, wait. Don’t tell me’.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Flowers, politics, the state of the world, dancing, social activism, filibuster reform, and what is it exactly my kid is doing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Sometimes having people over for game night or out camping for the weekend. And sometimes cuddling with my kid watching a movie just taking it easy at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I listen to an obscene number of audio books.
You should message me if
If you would like to. If you think politics is just to much fun not to talk about. Your are geeky and/or have common interests.
