I would describe myself as nerdy, with a gothic side. I'm an advocate of social justice and feminism, a tabletop gamer, a rambling storyteller, and a bit of a clown sometimes. I love the strange and the macabre, and I like to think of myself as a Gomez looking for his Morticia. Sadly, I'm not really that suave, but we all have dreams, right?
Please, feel free to message me. I'm a bit shy myself, so I really admire people bold enough to make the first move.
At home, well, a while back I had to cut a number of toxic people out of my life, and that was rough, so I'm mostly focusing on reclaiming some stability and rediscovering life's little joys. It's not always easy, but overall I think everything is coming together.
I like to play and design tabletop games, especially RPGs, and I love getting new people into the hobby!
Books: The Black Jewels series by Anne Bishop. Almost anything by Neil Gaiman, Sarah Vowell, or David Wong. Lots of fantasy, especially vintage stuff. Greg Rucka's pulpy thrillers are my guilty pleasures.
Movies: Legend. L.A. Story. Lost Highway. Jackie Brown. Heat. Willow. Labyrinth. Almost any Marx Brothers movie. Scott Pilgrim. The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra.
Shows: Twin Peaks may be my absolute favorite. I love Game of Thrones, Jessica Jones, Breaking Bad, and Farscape.
Music: Violent Femmes, Tricky, Joy Division, and Rasputina are some of my absolute favorites. I have pretty broad tastes, though I do lean toward various forms of rock, and I don't have much appreciation for pop or country, most of the time.
Foods: Spaghetti, buffalo wings, New York-style pizza, breakfast burritos.
Podcasts/Radio Shows: Welcome to Night Vale, Prairie Home Companion, Out of the Fridge, The Shadow (especially the old Orson Wells episodes). I added this category because why not? More cool stuff we might enjoy together, right?

I'd kind of like to break out of my routine more, but I also have to be somewhat budget-conscious for the time being, so I guess I'm more interested in cooking meals together than going out a lot.
But no, in reality I think I'm not a very private person. I mean, if you want to discuss kink, gender roles, polamory, mental health, pretty much anything, I'm kind of an open book. I try to let other people take the lead in setting the boundaries because I don't want to deluge anyone with TMI.
Here's something that I suppose anybody getting to know me ought to know: I've lived with depression for many years. It's mostly mild and manageable, and I'm generally an upbeat person for the most part, but sometimes it sucks.
Do you enjoy intellectual discourse? Do you enjoy being playful and weird? Can you shift between these two modes without warning?
Are you a mature person looking to build a stable future? Do you still maintain a childlike sense of wonder at the weird and beautiful world we live in?
If you're answering 'yes' a bunch, I'd really like to hear from you. You sound like the sort of person I'd like to know.
