My self-summary
My name isn't Will, but apparently I look like one (?)

I don't know you, but chances are I want to get to know you better. If you feel the same, get in touch!

While I'm honest, I like the idea of coming up with an over-the-top lie for how we met, if you are one of those girls in denial about internet dating. Let me know if any of the following appeal. We may be able to set them up...

1. We met at karaoke on duets night. You helped me sing Baby It's Cold Outside. While we lost to a pretty over the top rendition of Don't Go Breaking My Heart, we hit it off anyway.

2. I was on my way to a blind date and when I saw you sat alone in a coffee shop reading and I couldn't stop myself from coming over. I never did find out who I was meant to be meeting, but it worked out.

3. We sat next to each other at a comedy show. The compere thought that we were on a date. While the ensuing jokes weren't that funny, the idea of being on a date seemed good. We took it from there.

4. We met crowd surfing at a Stevie Wonder gig. He never saw it coming, but really, neither did we.

5. I was messing about in the supermarket, pretending that my trolley was a tank. I got a little over-excited and ran into you in the frozen food aisle. I made a weak joke about having to buy you dinner to apologise, suggesting one of the frozen delights on offer. You one-upped me by convincing me to take you out for a proper meal somewhere nearby.

6. We were out for Halloween. I was dressed as a lion, while you were dressed as a witch. When I saw someone dressed as a wardrobe, I just had to get a photo of us together. I don't really remember what happened to the wardrobe?

7. I was stringing my guitar in a park, and started to play to make sure it was in tune. You walked by and, thinking I was a busker, threw me some money. When I explained, you let me know that seeing as you had paid for a song, you expected to get one. I got your name, and made up a song for you on the spot. It wasn't very good, but apparently it was good enough.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now is kind of a crazy time. Some of it is spent zipping around the world working for a gaming company, while other bits see me editing a website. The exciting bit is that I've just started working on a new TV show, which (hopefully) will become my ticket to even more exciting things(!)
I’m really good at
I have improbably good beginners luck, so when I start doing something, I'm probably really good at it. Unfortunately, it doesn't necessarily last!
The first things people usually notice about me
I have no idea. I can't help but think that asking people would mean that I'd be known for asking people what they first notice about me, and I'm not sure how cool I'd be with that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have a little habit of trying to read people's favourite books. This all started as a plan to get interesting gifts one year for Christmas, and has never really stopped. Most people's favourite books are pretty good, and even the ones that don't particularly float my boat still bring me a little closer to whoever recommended it. Fiction or non-fiction, even the odd comic book here and there, it's all good with me.

When it comes to music, TV and film, I seem to consume a lot of it, and don't mind too much the genre, as long as it's good. I used to work writing the bit on the back of the box for DVDs, and while there got into the awkward habit of watching a lot of films, something I've never really shaken. Right now I'm watching Breaking Bad and Archer on Netflix, both recommendations of American friends of mine. In terms of music, the last 3 albums I listened to were the most recent Macklemore album (very smart rapping... first rap album I've bought, but I liked it), a Ben Folds record, and a weird mashup mix a friend gave me. I love a good mix tape, and am always happy to make them, not in a cheesy way, but just because I love the feeling of having discovered a new band that I like, and want to share it.

Music update - links to songs I have in my rotation right now, which are each a little off the wall, but good fun. The second one might be my favourite cover of all time.

I am a very lazy foodie. Given a reason, I'll cook up a storm, and I have a pretty good drinks cabinet built up at home. If I'm cooking just for me though, I will frequently just eat whatever - I certainly have no problem with the odd greasy fry up from time to time. I also always have a bottle of champagne in my fridge, as reverse insurance. This way, if something good happens that needs celebrating, I'm ready.
The six things I could never do without
1. Variety
2. My hands. I'm not sure how I'd bump myself off without them, but I really wouldn't want to live without hands
3. Fun, interesting conversations
4. Cheese. I'm sure I could live without it, but I'd rather not
5. My friends
6. Sad as it is to say, I do wonder how I would function without the internet these days.
I spend a lot of time thinking about

I'm basically Jonathan Creek without all that murder. Constantly searching for the next beautiful impossibility to make real.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably having a drink or two after work with friends. Occasionally I'll be zipping off around the world. I travel quite a bit, and have mastered the art of sleeping on planes, making weekends away something that I revel in.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Some of my work colleagues have convinced themselves that I am related to a fairly famous English celebrity, because I have the same surname as them. I've given up correcting them, and as more people join the company, this has become a truth as far as some newer people in the office are concerned.
You should message me if
you fancy meeting up and doing something fun

you feel like a silly conversation about something inconsequential but amusing

you think we'd get on

you'd like to know more about me

if you're not sure - I recommend that you message me. The worst that can happen is really not bad at all.
