My self-summary
Well...to "summarize"...I am originally from an island on the West Coast, and somehow I have ended up on the craziest island on the East Coast. I have lived here for almost 2 years and love that I can still get lost and find gorgeous old architecture to stare at.

I love trying new restaurants, learning new things, going to the Museums, walking instead of taking the subway, going to the Parks, finding as many free events as possible, trying new craft beers, LIVE MUSIC(!!!), seeing as many shows as I can without going broke, meeting new people and hearing their stories, avoiding Times Square, Macy's and the Port Authority Bus Terminal at all costs, not taking life too seriously and learning to enjoy the present moment for what it is.
What I’m doing with my life
My life so far has been centered around my need to be musical in any way possible. I began by playing any instrument I could get my hands on, stuck with the Piano and Saxophone for a while, eventually found my voice and the rest is history!
I’m really good at
Laughing at myself
Mediating arguments
Cooking crepes
Adjusting to my surroundings
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, most people stop me to ask what my ethnicity is...and then they notice all the freckles and get even more confused, and finally decide that I look like some other dark featured celebrity....its a whole thing really...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - I love historical fiction, so I've been enjoying the occasional Dan Brown book. Some other favorites of mine are Ragtime by E.L. Doctorow, The Alchemist, The Harry Potter books (not ashamed), working on a Marilyn Monroe memoir, and about to start reading Game of Thrones finally...and I am always up for suggestions!

Movies - Oh so many....lets leave something to discuss in case we run out of conversation topics, yes?

Shows - Friends, Fringe, Dexter, BBC's Sherlock, GOT, Downton Abbey, How I Met Your Mother, Always Sunny in Philadelphia...and again, always up for suggestions!

Music - I have a huge passion for Movie Sountracks, New Orleans Jazz, Big Band Jazz, really almost any type of Jazz, I love me some Frankie and Ella. I can get into the occasional Top 40, enjoy a healthy dose of Classical, Hawaiian, Edith Piaf. I can be caught listening to anything from the 20's to the 90's depending on how I feel that day...so I basically will listen to anything (except death-metal and screamo, a.k.a. anything that makes my voice hurt from just listening to it) Music has an incredibly important presence in my life.

Food - Raised by a chef so I'm used to trying new things.....except anything spicy. I cannot handle spicy food AT ALL, and it's a damn shame.
Six things I could never do without
Dogs (especially Golden Retrievers).
Chapstick. (I'm addicted, it's a problem)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Well I just spent a lot of time thinking about this question...so there's that.

Otherwise I think a lot about where I'll be in 5 years, how I can positively affect the people around me, how technology-obsessed kids are nowadays, the worlds over-population problem (all thanks to Dan Browns newest book, Inferno), and I suppose how crazy, amazing and difficult it is to live in this city...and how much I love it.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually I'm either out and exploring a little more of New York, or in watching my favorite shows on Netflix.......just like everyone else on this website apparently.
