I love trying new restaurants, learning new things, going to the Museums, walking instead of taking the subway, going to the Parks, finding as many free events as possible, trying new craft beers, LIVE MUSIC(!!!), seeing as many shows as I can without going broke, meeting new people and hearing their stories, avoiding Times Square, Macy's and the Port Authority Bus Terminal at all costs, not taking life too seriously and learning to enjoy the present moment for what it is.
Adjusting to my surroundings
Movies - Oh so many....lets leave something to discuss in case we run out of conversation topics, yes?
Shows - Friends, Fringe, Dexter, BBC's Sherlock, GOT, Downton Abbey, How I Met Your Mother, Always Sunny in Philadelphia...and again, always up for suggestions!
Music - I have a huge passion for Movie Sountracks, New Orleans Jazz, Big Band Jazz, really almost any type of Jazz, I love me some Frankie and Ella. I can get into the occasional Top 40, enjoy a healthy dose of Classical, Hawaiian, Edith Piaf. I can be caught listening to anything from the 20's to the 90's depending on how I feel that day...so I basically will listen to anything (except death-metal and screamo, a.k.a. anything that makes my voice hurt from just listening to it) Music has an incredibly important presence in my life.
Food - Raised by a chef so I'm used to trying new things.....except anything spicy. I cannot handle spicy food AT ALL, and it's a damn shame.
Dogs (especially Golden Retrievers).
Chapstick. (I'm addicted, it's a problem)
Otherwise I think a lot about where I'll be in 5 years, how I can positively affect the people around me, how technology-obsessed kids are nowadays, the worlds over-population problem (all thanks to Dan Browns newest book, Inferno), and I suppose how crazy, amazing and difficult it is to live in this city...and how much I love it.
