My self-summary
Okay how ya doing? :) My name is Maris, but I've been known to be called Lance, Alex, Dennis or Michael - mainly because people can't grasp the individuality of my name! :) I'm 30 now, but I stare middle agedom in the face and say, "Bring it on mother f**ker!" (But I have been told I look way younger, always around 23!"nobody likes when you 23, when you're still more amused by prank phone calls, what the hell is caller-id..." I used to love Blink 182 when I was that age especially, could totally relate hehe!), but I still act like I'm about 19. I've now finished University which means that I now have a Diploma in IT and a Bachelor's Degree in IT, I have got a job within the public sector, as an Application Developer. I'm interested in almost anything and everything. I'll try almost anything once, I believe life is about fun, and experiences, so I try to gain the seasonilisation of as many experiences as I can muster up. :D

I am impulsive, playful, and cheeky
What I’m doing with my life
I work around 40 hours a week as an Application Developer within the Federal Government, and loving it (well it pays the bills to finance my social life!). :)

I've recently sold my house, so am having a month long holiday overseas to reward myself - providing that I have my recreation leave, and it's going to cost a sweet penny, but fortunately I can handle it - the Government pays well. :)
I’m really good at
Treating a woman like she should be. Cherished, loved, pampered. There is nothing that I wouldn't do to get a smile or a laugh from a woman, and that includes chewing on chocolate covered cement (despite ruining my dental work!). :) I also like creative stuff. Like drawing, painting, writing and I like to believe I have a great imagination. As Albert Einstein aptly put it - "Imagination is more important than knowledge". I like poetry, but I prefer to write it than read it. :) But all that by the same token, that doesn't mean I'll be pussy whipped or commanded by a woman. If I am to show that kind of respect to a woman, then I would expect the same back; otherwise I WILL swim away to warmer waters... :)
The first things people usually notice about me
Hmmm my vibrant blue eyes that I'm told 'shimmer' (Unless I'm tired apparently). The picture isn't very true, they are actually a bit darker, but by no means morose. :) And maybe my biceps (pity my pecs aren't quite so 'buff'). Well there's two things, take a look and you tell me...but I'd have to stick with my eyes). :) With that said, I'm not a wanker steroid pumped loser who thinks they're top shit either...I do it to keep my muscle tone up...

If we are speaking of noticeable traits emotionally, most people seem to think I am conceited because they have no idea how to take me - for example if I complain about having to wait in a line, someone may say to me that why should you get to queue jump, and I say straight faced, "Because I'm better than everyone here ... obviously." Totally straight faced. Those who know me would burst out laughing (and not because they disagree hehe) because it's that dry kind of hunour that earns me friends and helps me to influence people.

People notice I don't get stessed easily, because I only care about the people that matter. Like friends, family, partner, daughter, etc. I get told a lot that I shouldn't 'not care' about things, but I do - and those people who don't like it can get fucked - if that's you - off you go, get the fuck out of my profile, I don't like your kind here. If that isn't you, read on... :)

I get told a great deal that I am 'too forward'. I can admit I am forward, and I don't care. If I don't like someone, I tell them that. I don't feel the need to be nice to keep the peace. There was this fuckhead at work who was bragging about cheating on his fiance (now wife, yes you Pete you immoral fucking shithead), and I pretty much told him he is a false person, and not to ever speak to me because I don't give a fuck what he says because everything that comes out of his mouth is shit. It didn't go well because I have to work with him, and was councilled by the Team Leader. I explained the situation at which point he was councilled from causing a bad reflection to the Australian Public for the APS. Not apologetic, heard he's cheating on his wife now. He doesn't work for the Public Service any more, I believe he was asked to leave. Fuck him, and good riddance. But in summary, yeah I tell it like it is, if people don't like it - fuck them, plenty more people that do like me than don't. I don't judge unmercifully, I judge righteously - by what people say and do, not what they look like.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
There are too many to name. I don't read much - but if I do it's more likely to be Fantasy or Science Fiction. My favourite movies would most likely be Lord of the Rings - Return of the King, "My friends, you bow before no-one," :) I could probably add my favourite movie is Braveheart, and I've watched that in the last year - just the emotional weight of it makes it a true epic. I also like The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and anything with a good beat which you can dance to.

Lately I've listened more to Missy Higgins, and a lot of older ones (not into Justin "Cute Boy" head or any of 99% of today's utter shit), like Rick Springfield - Jesse's Girl, J. Giels Band - Angel is the Centrefold, The Beatles, anything is good if the person can actually sing. Invariably this breeds an immense dislike for bands that try to pass of screaming into the microphone as music, like Metallica, Sepltura & Rancid. :P
Six things I could never do without
- My Mobile Phone (Cell phone in the US - by the way never buy a HTC Desire or anything until they get their act together, they lock up when charging and they suck at multitasking)
- My laptop computer (I live on this, and am an avid gamer - be warned! :P)
- Beer (Great for a night out with the usual gang - but not shit like VB/Fosters/Hahn LIGHT, anything else is good. Beer of choice lately has been Boags Premium, if anything can be said for Tasmania, they sure know how to brew fantastic beer. Although lately I've also began a Cadbury kid since I lost a heap of weight...)
- Potato chips (Great for a night in, or a night out - either way it's an essential, must be Salt & Vinegar!)
- Female company (They are the opposite sex, and I find that appealing in itself, as a friend or more ;) )
-Sex (Everybody does it and enjoys it, so why is it called dirty? :P)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Leonardo Da Vinci - The man was a genius. Submarines, Helicopters, robots, and many other numerous inventions, hundreds of years before they were actively built. I would love to have the insight that he had!

Other than that I don't think TOO much about things, I think that being impulsive livens up your life and makes it interesting. It tends to make everyone's life around me more interesting too. It's worked for me so far, so I just go with it. :)
On a typical Friday night I am
Sometimes I'll have a beer at the Duke across the road from work, or might be too looking forward to seeing my partner and our daughter, so am off there instead (more often this choice). Either way, it's all good fun.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really dislike the word 'Hate', I never use it, even if it is an expression, nothing is ever so bad, that it requires that word. :) I'm not sure exactly what more there is to tell! :) Just ask, I am very open, and will answer anything at all.
You should message me if
You believe life is all about fun and believe immaturity is all a state of mind! But please don't assume that immaturity is the same as being childish... totally different. I am a man and as such, am accountable for my actions and know how to have fun without the stupidity. :D
