My self-summary
They call me the seeker... I've been searchin' low and high! I won't get to get what I'm after 'till the day I die.

Those lyrics (and the rest of that song) really resonate with me - I feel they describe me perfectly.

The label that best fits me is "hippie" - I love and accept all people, don't believe in monogamy, am "high on life", know my own mind well, do my best to make the world a better place, feel that most social conventions are bullshit, am somewhat spiritual, and have an interest in psychedelia and 60's and 70's counterculture, music and fashion.

I'm also very much a scientist - I did my undergrad at Caltech in Computation and Neural systems. Brains are the coolest thing ever.

It probably says I don't respond to messages. That's because I just moved here, and when I was still in LA I stopped responding knowing I'd be moving soon.

When people ask me where I'm from I generally respond with "everywhere and nowhere", because I grew up as a military brat and moved around a lot. As a result I am very adaptable and very accepting, but possibly also somewhat awkward.

I enjoy intellectual/philosophical/scientific discussions, and am very open - no secrets here!
What I’m doing with my life
Doing my best to express love!

Working at a startup doing web programming for now. I want to go to grad school for Neuroscience and do the whole academia bit eventually.

Living in an apartment with friends from undergrad. Collecting experience.

I like just about everything. In general, prog rock, psychedelic rock, stuff that's just plain weird, classic rock, recently learned I enjoy some subgenre of house music whose name I don't know. I'm pretty bad at finding new music for myself, so I tend to start listening to whatever people play around me or invite me to shows for. I don't like rap, hiphop, country, or harsh noise.

Food: I'm really just beginning to get into food. I grew up on fairly bland foods that lacked depth and didn't realize until a couple years ago how much was out there. My favorite flavors are still generally Italian ones, I love tomatoes, basil, garlic, cheese, etc. I don't like peppers, sausage, or spicy foods, though.
The six things I could never do without
New Stimuli
Other people
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lots of things - the nature of consciousness, my social interactions, what happens when we die, world issues, social consciousness, how absolutely fascinating the universe is (especially brains!). I have this metaphysical idea called the truth-seeking love machine. I have lots of ideas and I'm constantly reexamining them.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out in my apartment with others we invited over, or at some event in the Bay. I am trying to go to lots of different kinds of events and meet lots of people. I'm pretty social but only occasionally hard-partying.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've had my heart really truly broken before, but it's slowly healing and I think only minimally scarred over.
You should message me if
You think you have something thought-provoking to discuss.
