My self-summary
There are so many people in this world that you will never get a chance to interact with by normal conventions. This site can help fill in the gaps.

I'm one of those people you never would have met if not for our mutual decisions to join up here. It's up to us to give that statement some meaning.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm lucky enough to be in a career related to what I studied in school. Since it took me some time to find it I can appreciate how difficult that is to achieve.

Following in the foot steps of Superman, I became a journalist. I previously covered sports, but since moved to hard news. I miss writing about games, but maybe now I won't get burnt out on the subject.
I’m really good at
Hopefully writing, or else I'm in the wrong profession. With the territory comes a skill for listening. I've always been interested in hearing people's stories and what makes them unique. Everyone has those aspects about them, I'm good at digging them out.
The first things people usually notice about me
My dimples stand out, particularly the left one.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books- Picture of Dorian Gray, An American Tragedy, A Clockwork Orange, 1984, Harry Potter, Crime and Punishment, Grapes of Wrath. In another life I think I would have enjoyed being an English teacher.

Movies- Wedding Crashers, Spiderman (Tobey Maguire version, I have mixed emotions about the Andrew Garfield adaptation. We get it, Peter Parker is awkward, but spit out your sentence!), Waiting, The Dark Knight. American Psycho.

Shows- Community, Parks and Rec, Scrubs, The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Hannibal, Friday Night Lights. I think we're in a golden age of dramas, but I'm looking for some more comedies.

Music- Muse, Rise Against, Linkin Park, Every Avenue, A Day to Remember, Incubus, All Time Low. Sometimes I think my music taste hasn't evolved much since high school, but so be it.

Food- I have a weakness for baked goods, brownies are my favorite. I've been trying to be better but it's hard to pass up a good pizza. I eat more vegetables these days as a way to compensate.
The six things I could never do without
We all can't live without water, food, air, friends and family, so you can assume those aspects of my life.

1.) My laptop- I like to stay connected
2.) My car- for the independence
3.) A good book to read- best thing to do before going to bed
4.) Physical activity- I can't just sit around all day. I try to get my 10,000 steps per day in, as fitness is important to me.
5.) A pen- metaphorically, since I like to be able to write. Though I do actually always carry a pen on me.
6.) Nostalgia- It's important to remember the good times fondly, as long as you don't forget to make new memories along the way.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend more time than I'd like thinking of how I'm going to fill out next week's paper, but other than that I try to think ahead in regards to most aspects of my life.
On a typical Friday night I am
I do most of your typical Friday night activities, but what I would really like is to find someone to share more of the uncommon ones. Water parks, hay rides, apple picking and the like.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I only recently got my first smartphone. Seems like something a journalist probably should have done sooner, but I'm loving it so far.
You should message me if
You're ready for a change and can think of guys here as "the guy I met" and not "the guy I met on a dating site."
