What I’m doing with my life
Running a solo law office which is both incredibly gratifying and stressful. I've always loved rooting for the underdog and playing devil's advocate, so criminal defense has been a natural fit for me. I also get to meet a lot of interesting people! Currently considering branching out into immigration law but I need to brush up a little bit more on my Spanish before I take the plunge. Puedo hablar Español bastante bien pero no soy 100% fluente.

When I'm not doing that I can often be found at home unwinding with headphones and a guitar, or out and about with friends enjoying a pint or a show. I've recently gotten addicted to astronomy and stargazing, and I love looking at the planets through my rinky-dink telescope. Or taking my favorite medicinal herb and watching Carl Sagan's Cosmos.
I’m really good at
Remembering obscure facts and useless pieces of knowledge. This comes in handy during trivia night at the pub. I'm an information sponge basically. I've gotten pretty good at spoiling my cat rotten.

I can play the guitar like a motherfucking riot.

I'm good at remembering birthdays. I can usually recommend a beer to drink. I'm pretty good at playstation football against my friends but at 32 that's not something to be terribly proud of.
The first things people usually notice about me
If I'm working, it'll be my sharp-looking suit. Other than that, my eyes, my laugh, and my smile get noticed pretty quickly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: Right now I'm addicted to Rocket from the Crypt, Hot Snakes, Drive Like Jehu, basically anything John Reis/Rich Froberg have ever put their hands on. I'm a huge fan of loud guitars and unconventional time signatures. I also have a soft spot for power pop and indie rock.

Books: Mostly non fiction, pop-science, history. A novel here and there. Anything by Vonnegut.

Movies: Pretty much anything by the Cohen brothers. I dig documentaries; the last really great one I saw was Cave of Forgotten Dreams: one of the most stunning, memorable movies I've ever seen, documentary or otherwise. Recently I saw Gravity in 3D, which was pretty great

I really like bad movies that cross into the "so bad it's good" territory; The Room, Samurai Cop etc.

Im into many different kinds of food, but that's something to discuss over drinks or dinner isn't it? (hint hint)

I don't watch TV much but I keep up with The Colbert Report and Game of Thrones. Rick and Morty is fucking fantastic.
Six things I could never do without
An acoustic guitar
Caffeinated beverages
Good music
The support of my friends and family
And a partridge in a pear tree
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future. The universe and our place in it.
On a typical Friday night I am
I like being a homebody sometimes and unwinding with some video games/guilty pleasure television. Other times I can be found out and about with friends in downtown/North Park, sipping microbrews and telling tales out of school. I also enjoy playing poker with my friends and taking all their money.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I always used to get incredibly emotional and choked up watching those Sarah McLaughlin ASPCA ads, to the point where I get misty whenever I hear that song.
You should message me if
You're laid back, funny, smart, maybe a little sassy. If you want to try out a new dive bar or taqueria, or grab a cup of coffee.
