My self-summary
I could spend a day lost in Powell's and have done. I will play any piano in a room like a moth to flame; tickling the ivory is my favorite way to let off steam, as it were. I guess I express my artistic bent as a writer too. I love words and to play with them so that they more than communicate, but jump through hoops. In other words, I like poetry. Sometimes I share my own at venues around town.
I got to spend some of my formative years in Italy and Switzerland. So I have no shortage of amusing anecdotes and more than a few words of French. My parents once dropped me off, when I was in sixth grade, for a basketball camp in Zurich. No sooner did they leave me there for a week, then I found out the camp was in Swiss German, not English; and I couldn't speak that for the life of me.
If my friends described me as a quieter, intellectual type, they would be right enough, I think. They would also tell you I am no stodgy, dusty bookworm. Going out on the town with friends, hosting dinner parties, checking out films, concerts and theater are some of the things I do when not studying for a class or working.
What I’m doing with my life
Wrapping up my degree—English Literature & Writing major—selecting a potential grad school, working on my art and making ends meet.
I’m really good at
Finding the funny in the unlikeliest places; listening well in conversation and expressing my own thoughts; writing on whatever strikes my fancy or poetry given the inspiration; I am a wunderkind at procrastination; remembering faces, if not always names; hosting dinner parties for friends and what not.
The first things people usually notice about me
My hat (if I'm wearing it of course)
I listen well
Intelligent without any pretense; good-humored without carelessness.

The six things I could never do without
Paper and a pen for writing
Both free and easy banter on anything under the sun and solid conversation
Sublime music
Close friends and family
A passport for world adventuring

Why certain things haven't been invented yet, the latest project to satisfy my literary/artistic ambitions, the people in my life, how to keep growing and creating, bettering myself and my quality of life.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends, perhaps, going out on the town, to a witty play, a foreign film or a live indie concert; writing, writing, writing (sometimes for a pesky submission deadline...
