My self-summary
I grew up in beautiful New England where I learned to love fresh air, the great outdoors and the changing of the seasons. I like to ski downhill & backcountry, play ultimate frisbee, practice yoga, run, watch live music, try to play a variety of instruments, have conversation about meaningful & trivial topics, smile and laugh. I'm active, but fit plenty of time for relaxation in my life too. Ideally, I'd like to find a lady who enjoys these these activities and is adventurous enough to try new ones too. Life is more fun when you've got a good friend by your side!
What I’m doing with my life
I spent large chunks of the last two years traveling around the beautiful western expanses of the US - My home during this time was a small camper on the back of my pickup truck. It was a wonderful experience & I am so happy that I got the chance to explore lots of amazing spots in northern CA, WA, OR, UT, MT and CO. A few months ago I decided to settle down for a bit and so I've just recently moved to Chicago and taken a job as an Optical Engineer (which means that I spend my days playing with photons and lasers). After so much time out in the mountains and woods, I'm excited for city activities - live music, museums, great restaurants and more!
The first things people usually notice about me

Six things I could never do without
music, exercise, laughter, friendship, competition, something to read
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to create more happiness for myself, my family & my friends. Intergalactic space travel. Building a log cabin in the mountains. Efficiencies & Inefficiencies (I am an engineer after all).
On a typical Friday night I am
It's so variable. I could be playing frisbee, hopping in my pickup truck and driving somewhere to hike or ski in the morning, relaxing with a book, grabbing a beer with friends, dancing to some funky music, watching a classic film, going to a concert, or something completely different.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've always wanted to learn how to salsa dance.
You should message me if
You're adventurous. You enjoy being outside & active. You're quick with a smile and a laugh.
