My self-summary
A Zoe seeking his Zelda. I like to do fun things. Wild, I know. Recently my friends and I did a murder mystery dinner show, went to Magic Castle, and had Christmas decorating and un-decorating parties. I love festivals of all kinds: film, book, beer, art, all of it. And then there's all those Saturday nights of karaoke.

I moved to Los Angeles several years ago because I always wanted to live near the ocean. Mission accomplished. Everything else that happens in my life from here on out is just icing on the cake, obviously.

I read a lot, I watch a lot of sports, I love the beach, I will obsessively listen to the same song over and over, and I'm interested in just about everything. I put mustard on my French fries and I have a favorite towel which is massively useful. I'm never bored.

Personally, I'm an optimist and I enjoy being awed by the world. Can't believe how strange it is to be anything at all.
What I’m doing with my life
Dammit...I had something for this. Hmmm. I guess pondering life, the universe, and everything.
I’m really good at
The list of things I'm good at exceeds the number of atoms in the known universe.

Also, modesty.
The first things people usually notice about me
I was once told I had "piercing eyes." They do get complimented a lot too.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: A River Runs Through It, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Heart of the Matter, The Name of the Rose, Foucault's Pendulum, Labyrinths, The Book of Laughter and Forgetting, The Stranger, Sophie's Choice, Savage Detectives, One Hundred Years of Solitude. Does it have words? I'll probably read it.

Music: The Smiths, The Hold Steady, Pulp, Titus Andronicus, Britpop, indie, punk, American Music Club, slocore, anything with lyrics, essentially, that's not heavy metal. I hate heavy metal.

TV Shows: Daria, Arrested Development, Community, Bob's Burgers, Archer, Lip Sync Battle, Bojack Horseman

Movie: The Dark Knight, Beautiful Girls, Life is Beautiful, Conspiracy, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Rent, anything with Edward Norton or Denzel Washington

Food: Indian, Italian, Mexican, anything spicy. The Parma Parma Parma Chameleon burger. Chicken from Gentle Farms Chicken but not chicken from those criminals at Chicken 4Dayz. Is it edible? I'll eat it. Especially if it's doused in hot sauce. Unless it's cabbage. I don't eat cabbage.
Six things I could never do without
The five books of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy trilogy and a pomegranate.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Are we still doing phrasing?
On a typical Friday night I am
Contemplating the intricacies of Hegelian philosophy while guzzling Miller Lite and shots of fruit loop flavored vodka.

Update: I'm over the fruit loop flavored vodka. I've moved on to the cherry-flavored whiskey. Mmmmm.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Every now and then, when the apartment is quiet and the cats are sleeping and the neighborhood is calm, I'll yell, "Alriiiiiiight!" In my best Linda Belcher voice.
