My self-summary
I am in the business of fun and I love to have fun. I love music and play guitar, usually with rocksmith. Yes, it is a video game but I can combine 2 things I really love, video games and music, and that makes awesome. I am a video game developer which means I get the most joy out of doing something that causes others to be happy.

When I am outside of work I like to try and challenge myself with something new. Sometimes this might be the gym, learning a new coding language, or just some new application of a concept I already know.
What I’m doing with my life
I am finally content with my position in my company and I have worked hard to get where I am. This means I am finally not having to pull 60+ hour work weeks and i have my evenings and weekends back!

I have recently started a new workout schedule which I absolutely am pouring myself into. I am now trying to get my friends to join so I have workout buddies to help keep me motivated.

My next goal now is to buy a house. This means I am starting to shop around here in the north Dallas to Frisco area. The housing market is really booming here right now so it is pretty cool to get into the thrill of fast bidding wars and finding that piece of land that is truly yours.
I’m really good at
I love a good problem. In fact, that is what drove me to video games to begin with. Each problem presented to me is a challenge I can solve.

Music has always been a love for me. I played trombone in high school and in college at Texas Tech. Guitar was another instrument I picked up when I was 12 and have never lost the itch to play. People tell me I am good at guitar but I always strive to be better. The experimentation that an artist can use to achieve a particular emotional reaction is what drives me to listen to new genres and artists. My goal is to always portray a particular emotion when I play.
The first things people usually notice about me
Most people just think I am silly. This is especially true at work because I try to use my silly nature to allow people to relax a little. Sometimes this is a random pun or obviously bad joke. Sometimes I wear an odd outfit. At the last release party I attended I wore a pink checkered bow-tie and sunglasses. I just like to look goofy sometimes and just see how people react. If I can get, "I can't believe that is you!" reaction then I know I have done well.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The list would be longer than I could fit here.

Music: I really like all genres because I can find something about a song that shows some musical talent. Some of my favorites artists are Joe Satriani, Frank Gambale, K+Lab, Daft Punk, Flume, Munford and Sons, Boston, Cake, Benny Goodman, and Mussorgsky. Really if you like an artist, I can USUALLY find something redeemable about their music that allows me to listen to it.

Movies: This is another form of media that I indulge in because it is inspiration to my work while providing great entertainment. Some of my favorites are Tron (both), The Avengers (yes all of the individual super hero movies too), Die Hard series, 13 Assassins, American Pie (yes I love my 90's teen comedies.) and Anchorman.

Shows: I love going to the opera. I used to have season tickets to the Fort Worth opera and would love to get back into that scene. My absolute favorite opera is Don Gionvanni.

TV Shows: Shows is too general and I took it as theatre rather than TV. TV shows I enjoy are Suits, How I Met Your Mother, and Bones.

Food: I am an eclectic. If it is new, I will try it. Right now I am on a mission with some friends to try every type of meat that can be sold as food. This is pretty cool because I get to try things like Yak, Python, Beaver, Camel, and rare types of Elk. This is at least the stuff we have tried so far.

Books: I have to have VERY good recommendations to read a series. Some of my recent reads are the Hunger Games, Song of Fire and Ice Series, The Name of the Wind, Star Wars novels, and Warhammer 40K novels.
Six things I could never do without
1. A good problem to solve. However, if i was stranded without the modern necessities, surviving would be a problem. Awesome!

2. Work is definitely something I have to have in my life. Too long of a vacation and I am dieing to get back in the game.

3. My friend Kim who is like a sister to me. She helps keep me grounded when I dream the impossible.

4. My phone. I am way too addicted to this thing. Once I put work email and Skype on here I found the joy in being always connected.

5. A patio with a nice craft beer or glass of wine. Sitting out just relaxing trying my best to think of absolutely nothing is probably the most relaxing thing ever. Until a bee lands on your shoulder :D

6. A game to play. This could be a video game, board game, or just some dumb road game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Usually I am thinking about some work problem that I need to solve.

This is probably me being too much of an adult, but my investment strategies and how they get me to my end of life goals.

I can't forget this, but ice cream. For some reason it keeps creeping back into my mind.
On a typical Friday night I am
It really depends on the Friday night, but I enjoy going drinking with the guys or finding a good small venue with a good band.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I once tried swimming while it was snowing outside. I thought the ice in the pool was thin but when I jumped in, I just bounced.
You should message me if
You feel like a good conversation or if you have something new that you think I haven't tried before. You can find the most fun things in the oddest of places.
