My self-summary
A professional commercial artist, painter, geek and Mac wiz, I've worked in ad agencies and as a marketing manager at Apple. After that I ended up in Hawaii for two decades fighting back the jungle on the side of a volcano. After a loving divorce and asome time painting in the UK I've rediscovered St. Augustine where I paint, ride my 21 speed bike, enjoy live music and avoid the heat.

Devoted to my art and friends - I'm doing fine - but it sure would be nice to have a beer, cook, share laughs, and talk with someone I care about.

PS. I am a Military Brat so don't ask what high school I went to unless you're sitting down.
What I’m doing with my life
My interests and loves arepainting, bikes, travel, writing, hiking, photography, live music and studying history, art and science. I recently took painting trip to Ireland and hope to never recover.
I’m really good at
Portraits & landscapes, Macintosh, hugging, listening, kissing (I hear), photography, writing, teaching. Also, dogs, especially Border Collies and chocolate. I play a fair guitar or bass, and really love live music. People have asked me to do marketing, web design or run the sound.
The first things people usually notice about me
Perhaps internalizing stress has left my exterior in better than expected condition. I take some credit for that. Even here, saying "aloha" seems appropriate. I smile at strangers and find humor in just about everything. People fascinate me and I want to know all about them. I get bored easily and have an unnatural relationship with my iPad.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: Avatar, Across the Universe, Blade Runner, Saving Grace, Razor's Edge, Harry Potter & Dances with Wolves. That one about the fish, any Monty Python, BBC specials, documentaries and period dramas.

I never watch TV; couldn't be bothered. (Well, I did enjoy "Northern Exposure", MASH and "Rocky & Bullwinkle")

Books:Steve Jobs Bio, Lamb, Nop's Trials, the I Ching, Sci Fi, History, Fernand Braudel, Stephen Gaskin and lots of history. I usually have 2 or 3 going at once and science magazines on my iPad.

Comedy: the Goon Show, Monty Python, Bill Hicks, Eddie Izzard and George Carlin. Bent and British!

Music: Southern and country rock, Folk music, Jimi Hendrix to Jimmy Buffett, Good old Rock N Roll, Celtic, any new, good and especially live music. Oh and Hawaiian music, can't forget that.

I'll eat anything that's not currently watching, even Vegemite!
Coffee, tea and chocolate are part of this healthy breakfast.
Stouts and IPA ales, Merlots and hearty reds.
Six things I could never do without
My iPad. Dark chocolate, a dog, a book and a few science mags. My iMac, friends and bike. Black tea, good beer and cool weather. Is that six?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Getting the right green. The ohana and I left behind in Hawaii and Cornwall. Politics, Science, design and my mates down the pub. Hugs, good food, where all the bright people are hiding and where I left my keys.
On a typical Friday night I am
...wishing I was down the pub chatting over sausage and chips somewhere in the UK. In Florida I'll be at Anne O'Malley's, listening to friends play or riding my bike. Occasionally, I'll be found in my studio or painting in town.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
If religion, Fox news, cars, hunting or television are big parts of your life then we probably won't get along. But if you care about people, science, history, quality and reality, then let's talk!
You should message me if
You would like to meet an intelligent, caring, low-drama person who can't act his age. You are smart, funny, active, kind, easy-going and slightly bent. You are not a devout anything but instead stay active, love to cuddle and laugh. Exceptions will be considered pending application. Oh, and dogs, you gotta love dogs!
