My self-summary
A nerd/geek with an endless curiosity that jumps around from subject to subject. I love figuring out how things work and enjoy a good puzzle. As a result of this, I try to understand the world and can usually see things from multiple perspectives. I generate hope through optimism, expectations through pessimism, and see with realism.

A friend recently described me as someone who will always be there when needed. Another said I'm great at explaining and writing. Others have also said that I'm rational and someone to make a decision when needed. I can also be aloof and quiet often observing what is going on.

I enjoy going out just as much as I enjoy staying in. It's usually more about who the company is rather than what is being done. Still, checking out new places like museums can be a lot of fun especially with the right person. I'm starting to become more active in life. Joined a gym last year and I try to go a few times a week provided my schedule allows it. This has helped me lose over 45 lbs so far this year to put me at the healthiest weight I've been even though I'm only a fraction of the way to my goal range.

I'm looking for the Amy Pond to my Rory Williams. Someone to be my best friend in life. Someone I can geek out with about stuff like the latest big scifi/animated film or video games or how SpaceX keeps landing rocket boosters on land and at sea.
What I’m doing with my life
Well for the past 10 years I've done freelance work mostly in motion graphics. While in school I shifted towards work CG animation/games, specifically character rigging. I've been working towards that for a number of years now and I'm on the edge. Good enough that I've been told I shouldn't have a problem finding the job but the problem is more finding a job around here.

Because of that, I'm at a small crossroad of sorts. Just trying to make sure this is the right direction in the long term.

One of my hobbies right now is 3D printing. My printer is small and I mainly print trinkets but I enjoy it. I actually finished a 34 piece(told ya, small printer) helmet recently that I planned out for Halloween a couple years ago when my friends decided to do a theme of DC villains. Now I'm moving onto a new multi-print project.
I’m really good at
Figuring out how things work, driving, finding a simple solution to a complex problem, video games, and procrastination.

Also making peppermint bark. I do the full two layer version using white and either milk or dark chocolate. The latter of which is much better.
The first things people usually notice about me
One of these days I'll ask someone this when I first meet them. I'm going to guess my height unless I'm sitting.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: American Gods, the Odyssey series, and Dirk Pitt series by Clive Cussler to name a few. I listen to audiobooks at the gym and We Are Legion(We Are Bob) was great. Of course I read Harry Potter and enjoy that universe in both written and film form.

Movies: Always Disney and Pixar animation. Big ones so far recently have been Arrival, The Martian, Zootopia, Mad Max: Fury Road, Kingsman, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: Rogue One, Moana, Inside Out, Captain America: Civil War, and Star Trek Beyond.

TV: There are a lot. To name a few: Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Westworld, The Magicians, and I just started watching The West Wing to which I'm left wondering how have I gone this long without watching this marvelous show.

Music: It varies. There are a lot of film scores in my iTunes library. I've listened to Hamilton a lot but there is no amount to which one can say is too many times. Besides that, I tend to stick with various forms of rock but the range I'll listen to is broad.
Six things I could never do without
Why not save this for a later discussion?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Time. Space. Light. Sound. Matter.

Why perpetual motion machines don't really work. How one might program a system to self teach there for create an AI. Why creating AI may be a bad thing. Why it may be good. If all my POP vinyls come to life when I'm not around and hang out together outside their boxes. I could keep going.
On a typical Friday night I am
Honestly, just relaxing at home.

I miss the days of hanging out with friends playing board games while they got drunk but times change and life happens.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't know the speed at which I will take things. I want something serious but I'll probably go slow to start testing the waters.
