My self-summary
Native New Yorker, high functioning weirdo, reader of text (books, scientific articles, short stories, poetry, The New Yorker, all of it) service industry person, starting a masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in June.
What I’m doing with my life
I love (it's a serious love) learning new things. As I get older I feel more and more intensely that learning from other people is my life's mission--however hokey that may sound! I am a thirsty brain for sure.
I’m really good at
Speaking up/getting to the point
Typing like a crazed secretary
Stoned showers
Talking to dogs
Boggle and Ping Pong
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oliver Sachs
Margaret Atwood
William Faulkner
Anne Carson
Dan Chiasson
William Carlos Williams
Terrance Hayes
Kurt Vonnegut

Courtney Barnett
The Lumineers
Bill Withers
King Tuff
The Black Keys
The Offspring
Wild Ones
Dum Dum Girls

Party Down
Six Feet Under
Bob's Burgers
Grey's Anatomy (shutup)
Six things I could never do without
My little blue bicycle, the New Yorker weekly in my mailbox, mascara (whatever), nonfat cortado in the morning, friendship (it's a sheltering tree!), opportunities to learn.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What it means for me that I only live inside of my own human body and can't REALLY know what it feels like to be anyone else, how to learn as much as I possibly can from the people I meet, how to stop being a hater (that's a big one, don't talk to me if you love being a hater), how nice the trees look out here, that taking deep breaths of fresh air feels so good

Also let's be real,
On a typical Friday night I am
Either out partying to deal with the shell-shock of working in a busy restaurant, or hiding in my apartment watching Black Mirror to deal with the shell-shock of working at a busy restaurant
You should message me if
You like to read. You like yourself. You feel happy for other people when good things happen to them. You're a lifelong learner. You talk fast. You say hi to dogs in the street.
