I moved up to DC the fall of 2012 and have loved it. Might seem like a long time ago, but there is still a ton I want to get out and do.
I love food. Yeah, that sentence is pretty much my essence. I love to cook (played around with the idea of culinary school before college), I love to eat, I love to go try different places and different dishes. I don't care if it is a swanky new restaurant or beat up food truck, I'm down.
I'm from NC and before that NY so there are aspects of both in my personality. I love the Giants, Yankees, and Pirate football, when it comes time for college basketball I'm wearing Tar Heel blue. I love the snow and barbeque. I don't drive like a maniac and have a good set of manners.
I'm not sure if I dislike cats because I'm allergic or because they can tell and attack me anyway(true story, grandmother's cat stalked me like I was a gazelle with a limp).
I have a dog who just turned 2. He holds grudges, only makes barks when playing at the dog park, is so lazy he'd rather flop on his side and paw at other dogs instead of running around.
What is a deal-breaker though is if you have no sense of humor or if you are close-minded. Seriously both of those are a kiss of death. I love to laugh and smile and especially make others do the same. And I've come to know and love so many different people in my life with different religions, sexualities, political views that if you see them purely as labels we won't get along.
And let's not pretend guys are the only ones with short attention spans, so props if you read this whole thing.
Games (drinking, board, card, video)
Making origami rocks
I have a knack for knowing the right thing to say as well as the right time to shut up. I can either make a moment very awkward or make someone feel at ease at the drop of a hat.
The things people usually get know about me are more important though, my sense of humor, love to laugh, and the fact that my heart is usually in the right place.
Movies: I love movies. I have a huge collection and try to see a lot in theaters. Anything from The Avengers and Dark Knight to Zoolander and Bridesmaids. You'll even find some rom-coms on my shelf, I like them all. Turn off the lights and watch Planet Earth on Blu-ray sometime. Do it.
Tv Shows: I would stay more current if I had a dvr to remind me when things are on. Supernatural tops the list(hate if you want but it won't hurt my feelings), How I Met Your Mother, Suits, Orange is the New Black, Peaky Blinders,Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Eastbound & Down, Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, Iron chef, Always Sunny, The League, Louie, Community, New Girl.
Music: Wide open. I love to listen to random radio stations or music on pandora to hear new bands and styles. Problem is I don't learn any names. I'd love to go to shows up here sometime though.
Food: I've been waiting for this one since I started writing this essay of a section. I've been thinking of all my favorites and now I'm starving and nearly drooled over my laptop. The truth is I love all food. I love to cook food. I think there should be a candle that smells like sauteing garlic and onions. Blame my Italian heritage, blame that my Dad was a chef when I was growing up, it doesn't matter because I just love good food. Sushi, pasta, seafood, steak, even creative sandwiches and burgers! Don't ever agree to go grocery shopping with me, it could be similar to you taking me to look at shoes. So many ingredients, so many options.. I'll be there all day.
2. Good beer/coffee
3. Body of water (Pool, river, ocean)
4. Family and friends
5. A great cast iron pan (and an oven or hell even a campfire)
You love food and have a decent appetite.
You take pride in your personal appearance/hygiene
You are a fun person to be around, either trying new things or staying in for dinner and movie
Orrr if you are reading this and think back to this section on your page and realize that based on what you've said there I'm "not your type" for whatever reason and realize you've made a horrible horrible mistake
