My self-summary
I moved to Miami two summers ago for UM, and I'm lucky to be here to study marine geology. I bike everywhere, or metro, mainly because I didn't have a car, and now that I do have one, that doesn't mean my schedule is going to change much, it just means I can now go further distances easier when I want ^_~ And now I can move my Scuba gear!

***I am very involved with my schooling, and it is my primary focus. If you cannot understand and/or respect that, are needy and/or clingy, and aren't very independent, then you might as well stop here. At this point I am simply looking for new, interesting friends, and for anything to develop beyond that, you need to be okay with this. Just being honest.***

Let's see here. I like adventure, as well as a quiet day in the house. I have a dog, who tends to be a bit overly codependent and neurotic, but I love her anyways. I have a cat, a newer addition, and he holds cat standards high by being a total douche most to the time. I'm SCUBA certified, and dive whenever I get the chance. Photography interests me, and I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark 2. I'm a proud gun owner, and enjoy going to the range when I am lucky enough to afford the outrageous price of ammo these days…stupid politics. I like to read, when I'm not swamped with school books, and play my Wii U/360 [same situation]...I'm a borderlands freak. I am pretty much a geek--Anime, video games, etc. I have a binary tattoo "00101010", which is 42 for all you non-binary people. I like to hike, not that their are many mountains in Florida. I have an unnatural obsession with the Platypus, and can't think of a better animal that describes me. I like tattoos and piercings, and have been intching for both. I like to be spontaneous, and always down for an adventure.
What I’m doing with my life
I joined the military right out of high school, and did 6.5 years in the AF as a Network Technician. I then came back for a bit, and then left again to do some contracting work in Afghanistan. And now I'm back again. I've been In school since January 2012, and I already have my AA. I'm studying a double major in Marine Science and Geology, and I'm trying to figure out what to do next, whether it be a graduate program or the NPS. I don't have a job, just going to school full time--I've contstantly worked since high school, and just want to do the school thing for a while. I never exactly know where I'm going, but I'm making use of my time. I love traveling, and my most recent adventure [aside from moving to Miami] Newfoundland…last summer. I'm stable, and have worked hard and sacrificed a lot to be so...yet I have bad spending habits, such as my amazing trip to Belize a few summers ago. I'm a firm believer that the journey is more important than the destination; for you can't get to wherever it is you're going without the journey ^_~
I’m really good at
My friends have called me a Devil's Advocate. I can take situations and look at all aspects of them. I good at and enjoy being there for my friends and family. Oh, and I'm pretty awesome at classic Mario Bros. Seriously, try me: I actually do have an NES. :-p
The first things people usually notice about me
Generally the metal in my face and my hair is usually died, when I'm not too lazy to do so. I'm not the 'typical punk' generally associated and steriotyped with the piercings, tattoos, and dyed hair; generally, I'm a pretty nice guy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
When it comes to books, I am mainly into Science Fiction and Fantasy. However, because of school, as well as George R.R. Martain's speed, I've given up on "A Song of Ice and Fire" until he's done. I'm waiting on the third book of the "Kingkiller Chronicles" by Patrick Rothfuss, which has become my favorite books of all time, and looking forward to his side book to appease me until Book 3 comes out. Some of my classic favorites, that has been replaced by The Name of the Wind, include "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams and "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card.

When it comes to movies, I like just about everything. I'm a bit behind on newer movies. Favorites include "The Art of Travel", "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World", and many others. I don't have cable TV, but the TV shows that I do enjoy watching are NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, Robot Chicken, South Park, Family Guy, and Archer, which I've named my asshole cat after. i also enjoy shows from Discovery, History, Animal Planet, Travel, etc. And I absolutely love Anime, especially Miyazaki flicks, but I'm more about classic favorites these day, without much time to invest.

I am seriously an all around music guy. I listen to anything and everything from classical to heavy metal. Most of the time I will know a song, but not the name or who sings it. Pandora channels of mine include, but are not limited to: Linkin Park, Tool, Cake, Enya, John Williams, and Yoko Kanno.

Food...uhm...Tacos, sushi, pizza, and mac & cheese. Right?! Oh, and Hamburgers--if they don't satisfy the food pyramid, then those douche science food 'experts' can go hang out with Brooks. Seriously though, Tacos are my favorite, lol.
The six things I could never do without
001. Air
002. Water
003. Food
004. Sun and Moon
005. Trees
006. Shelter

That's right, life essentials. I suppose I'll answer the question how it's 'meant' to be answered, but I say this because in all honest, there are things that we say we need, but really done. Some things on this list, I have done without...kind of happens when you live in a third world country.

001. Family & Friends
002. Music
003. Adventures
004. Internet
005. My bean bag couch
006. My bike

How about the opposite? Things I could do without:

001. Politics
002. Fake people
003. Bad drivers
004. Unneeded stress.
005. Deadlines
006. Conformity

On the last one, seriously, be a fucking individual. It makes for much more interesting personalities. On other ones, in any area, if you want more elaboration, just ask.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think a lot. About everything and nothing. I tend to be a bit scatter brained. <---now that's interesting, you'd think that it would be "scattered brain", but that doesn't make sense when verbally said, even though it grammatically doesn't make sense when it's said the way it verbally makes sense. Hmm.... Anyways, I also tend to think about the future and what I want to do and where I want to be, but not too hard--I'm a fan of the good ol' fashioned "wing it" approach. However, I do have a planner, and I think a lot about how I should use it more...
On a typical Friday night I am
Homework. Watching movies/playing video games. Out with friends. It varies from week to week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I constantly imagine possible outcomes to different choices. This also includes possible deaths of family and friends...I tend to prep for such horrible events so that i will be ready for for them when they come. It sounds horrible, but tis how I get through life.
You should message me if
If you've made it this far. You don't mind being around a geek, or corny jokes. You want a kayak partner or a dive buddy. You like adventures. You like to chillaxe. If you just want to say hi. If you want a 'pen' pal. You want to debate about something. You need to get something off your chest.

When it comes to friends and relationships, I need to be surrounded by independent people. You need to be able to think for yourself, get around yourself, and have goals that motivate and drive your being. If you can't do that, then you won't understand me, and we probably won't get along.

Don't message me if:
You hate animals. You are shallow. You don't have an open mind. If politics is your life. If you constantly need order, stucture, and a schedule. Sorry, we just won't get along.

I'm a pretty nice guy, and I don't bite...too hard. I look forward to talking to you!
