My self-summary
Okay, so I am going to shove myself into this little text box as best I can.

I'm 35 and I manage a comic book and gaming store in South County.

All my life I have wanted to be a writer of some sort. I love writing of all kinds, poetry, novels, articles, essays, short stories, scripts of all kinds ... hell even text messages.

I went to Lindenwood University and majored in creative writing for a while and then eventually switched to Philosophy which ultimately was far more satisfying. I love to learn and I spend a large portion of my life doing just that. Be it from friends or from mistakes.

I have a lot of friends who care a whole lot about me and about whom I care a great deal for as well.

Which brings me here.

35 years old passionately devoted to my work (all my work, not just my job), my life, and my friends.

There used to be a thing where they asked you to describe yourself in three words. The ones I chose were: imaginative, trustworthy, and contemplative.
What I’m doing with my life
Living it.

Working a whole lot, some might say too much.

Trying to find the time in the little gaps between events in my life to take a good chance and look at how great I really have things.

Now I just need to find the time to start writing.
I’m really good at
I am a jack of all trades and a master of ... well ... actually quite a few *smile*.

I am a pretty good writer, I am a fantastic story teller, I give really great massages (ask around), I am pretty good at making people laugh, I give fantastic recommendations ... movies, music, comics, novels, television shows ... most people seem to really dig what I point them towards so I guess I am pretty good at it. There is probably other stuff that I am forgetting ...

OH RIGHT! I am great at using ellipses, and oxford commas.
The first things people usually notice about me
I would say my winning personality, wit, and charm ... but it's definitely my long hair, beard, and dimples ... if I'm smiling.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I used to read a whole lot more novels but in more recent years I haven't been so good at finishing them. I've come the the recent realization that one of my favorite stories in any medium is Strangers in Paradise by Terry Moore. I am huge fans of The Ender Series (but boy howdy do I hate Orson Scott Card), Books of the Banned and the Banished by James Clemens, The Dresden Files Series by Jim Butcher, and really anything by Cory Doctorow, Warren Ellis, Greg Rucka, Bryan K Vaughn . . . lots of others

I love movies and am really big fans of the works of these directors: Woody Allen (Deconstructing Harry), Spike Lee (Do The Right Thing), Ang Lee (Ice Storm), Krzysztof Kieslowski (Red), Guillermo del Toro (The Devil's Backbone), Alfonso Cuaron (Y Tu Mama Tambien), Pedro Almodovar (Volver), Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Amores Perros), Lisa Cholodenko (High Art), Gus Van Sant (Elephant), Atom Egoyan (Ararat), Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights), David Mamet (Spartan) . . . There are so many more.

I am an avid listener of music and am into bands like Shout Out Louds, Ours, The Smiths, Pavement, Rufus Wainwright, Martha Wainwright, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Sondre Lerche, Built to Spill, The Doves, Turin Brakes, Dealership, The Violent Femmes, Elvis Costello, Elliot Smith, Mojave 3, Spoon, The Pernice Brothers, TV on the Radio, Frou Frou, The Stills, The Thrills, The Shins, Ambulance Ltd., Keane, StarSailor, Zero 7, Nick Drake, Cat Power, The Dresden Dolls, Regina Spektor, Nellie McKay, Bright Eyes, The Dears, Talking Heads, !!!, Action Action, Echo & The Bunnymen, Tom Waits, Morrissey, Blur, Do Make Think Say, Godspeed You Black Emperor!!, The Roots, The Beastie Boys, Sage Francis, Mos Def, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Imogen Heap, The Bicycats, A Tribe Called Quest, Peter Gabriel . . . shit tons of others

I wouldn't say that I am a gourmand or anything but I really like nice food when I get the chance. I love Sushi, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Thai (especially Pad See Ew) and when it comes down to it I can go for a good old burger and fries.
Six things I could never do without
These days I would have to say that I couldn't go without my cellphone, my backpack (which technically counts as a whole lot more than one thing since it is usually filled with stuff to read, pens, notebooks, and other various accouterments but I'll put it here anyway), a pen of some kind, a note book (or scrap of paper of some sort), music, and my friends.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My mind is often rather full, I don't know that it is ever really quiet in here. I think a whole lot about writing ideas, ways to improve the store I manage, the music that I am listening to lately, the things I have been reading recently, my friends, philosophical concepts, sex (hey I'm a human), world news ... yeah ... it's a busy place inside here.
On a typical Friday night I am
These days I pretty much always hang out with friends and go to dinner.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have many guilty pleasures and am not terrifically embarrassed by most of them. So feel free to ask. I'll more than likely tell you.

Also I probably work too much.
You should message me if
You are an intelligent young woman with spirit, and spunk. You like comics, movies, books, ethnic food, a good night out, a good night in, and just generally having great fun with good conversation. If you are looking for Mister Right, Mister Right For Now, or just Mister Right Now. Ultimately though, message me if I sound interesting . . . friendly or more than friendly (I am always willing to make a new friend).
