My self-summary
If you're weird, into weird things, and enjoy learning about other weirdos, then be weird with me.

Some positive things I'd describe myself as: empathetic, optimistic, self-sufficient, open-minded, tolerant and direct. I'm looking for someone who I can spend some time with when I'm not working my weird hours (I work 6pm-2am most days, and my days off are Sunday/Monday).

If you want some pseudo-scientific data to look at, here are some personality profiles on me:
Jung/Myers-Briggs: ENFP
Big Five/OCEAN: High on Openness, extraversion and agreeableness, very low on conscientiousness and neuroticism.

Current favorite quotation:
"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it."
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working my silly hours. Getting into polyamory and kink. Hanging out with my best friends with pro wrestling on in the background. Getting into arguments on the internet.
I’m really good at
Putting people on my shoulders and spinning them around until they are dizzy.

I'm fairly good at being empathetic and level-headed.

I'm really good at finding opportunities to inappropriately hit on people, or making anything dirty, or going off on tangents into weird places

I'm pretty decent at making weird faces. I'm not Jim Carrey, but I'm good for the occasional laugh.
The first things people usually notice about me
My beard, my eyes, my hair (thick, curly if it gets too long) or the fact that I'm tall (6'3"). At least, that's what I gather from others.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Book: "Sex at Dawn", by Christopher Ryan. A cogent argument about why humans are likely not "naturally" monogamous.

Novel: "Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Friend" by Christopher Moore

Movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Crow, Seven, Donnie Darko, most Marvel comic book movies, Igby Goes Down, Any Kevin Smith movie, Firefly, Inception, many more

Music: Muse (You basically must enjoy this band in order to be my friend, it's one of a very few rules I have), The Music, The Joy Formidable, Kimbra, Foo Fighters, Peter Gabriel, Cage the Elephant, Metric, The Distillers, Filter, The Black Keys

TV Shows: Danger 5, Being Human, WWE Raw, Shameless, Pawn Stars, Archer. I have a ton of shows I'd like to catch up on (Walking Dead, Mad Men, 2 Broke Girls), but with my current work schedule I don't get to watch a lot of TV.

Food: Salmon, honey, burgers, peanut butter
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If you enjoy conversations about any of the following, then we have some common ground, since these are the topics I commonly have swirling in my head:

Philosophical ethics
Determinism and reductionism
Sports aesthetics/uniforms
Pro Wrestling
The Cleveland Indians
Monogamy as a social construct
Gender & Sexual orientation issues
Paraphilias/Fetishes/Other odd quirks of human sexuality
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Varies on a person-to-person basis. But I will admit to you, total stranger reading my profile, that I've never been drunk. Not for lack of trying. I don't seem to be able to. If you're curious... I can tell you the story.
You should message me if
You would like to get to know me
You don't mind a well-trimmed beard
You aren't freaked out by atheists
You are open-minded
You aren't a spam bot
You have any inclination to do so and aren't disqualified from the above guidelines. Because that would be swell
