My self-summary
I aspire to be as funny as Pheobe Robinson and/or Jessica Williams. I look up to bell hooks, Margaret Atwood, and my mom. My best friend is my brother.

I enjoy attending trivia nights, but am not particularly great at answering any questions correctly. Instead, I bring my humor and charm. I love to read, I enjoy being a couch potato in front of some decent or terrible tv, and I really like long walks.

I'm a *fabulous* procrastinator, a decent multitasker, and I'm terrible at leaving my bed before 11am on a Saturday.

I love bacon and whiskey.
What I’m doing with my life
Turning my brain into mush by cramming all the books ever into it (grad student).

I used to be a teacher, love being a student again, and am unsure about what the future brings (and trying to be ok with it).

Sometimes I do yoga, sometimes I swim laps, sometimes I read a book, and sometimes I drink beer. Depends on my mood.
I’m really good at
Doing voices while reading stories (tricks of the trade -- former preschool teacher).

Drinking beer.

Travel etiquette.

Active listening.

Baking pies!
The first things people usually notice about me
My soul-piercing blue eyes and my apple bottom jeans (this is a hint that I have curves that I like, not that I actually wear apple bottom jeans).

Or, probably that I'm a confident lady person.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I have worked at a few bookstores over the years and my interest range has widened because of it. Ask me what I'm reading...I'm always in the middle
of something!

Movies: I'm sorry to all you film buffs, but I'm not picky. My favorite B-list horror movie is The Descent, if that tells you anything.

Shows: STRANGER THINGS, just starting to watch The Wire.

Music: I do love some 90's hiphop, rap, and boom bap. De La Soul, Big Pun, and Nice & Smooth are being consistently played these days. Pete Philly and Perquisite, Tor, RJD2, Ratatat, and Girltalk make me tap my foot. Justin Timberlake. TI. Big Boi. Frank Ocean. Johnny Polygon.
St. Vincent, Cold Speck, Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell. Mountain Man, Glasser, The Tallest Man on Earth. Jose Gonzalez.
I think maybe one consistent genre that gets played in a variety of moods and times is Jazz. Nothing really past the 70's/80s though...lots of Ella, Django, Bill Evans, and the like.

Food: It's yummy.
The six things I could never do without
1. My passport (family lives overseas and I travel to see them a lot).
2. Clothing that makes me warm in the winter.
3. The kind of book that is so good the pages turn on their own
4. Creativity (not necessarily my own)
5.The feeling of Sunday morning laziness
6. More warm clothing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Daydreaming about life without roommates. Or if it's possible to work a job that I love for a livable wage that does good things to the world. Is it out there??
On a typical Friday night I am
Meh, I don't like this question. Check out this creepy thing I just saw:
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ask me the difference between a sheep and a goat and I will need to pause before I answer. Always, without fail, I need a moment to think.
You should message me if
You're not trying to be the coolest person ever. You're genuine and kind.

Social justice is yer thing.

Making dinner and playing scrabble sounds like an excellent plan for a night.

You can make me laugh. I'm the most attracted to a funny guy.
