My self-summary
Recovering philosopher. Often annoying, player of video games and talk-about-er of history, science and politics.
What I’m doing with my life
Working in an office, doing things with data. Honestly, not a very interesting job, but I am perennially scheming to jump ship into something a bit more interesting.
I’m really good at
Empathy. I worked hard to understand what motivates and steers others, even that really awful thing that that person did that you can't forgive.

Non-sequiturs. Seriously, I can barely make it through a conversation without segueing into a very, very thinly connected topic.
The first things people usually notice about me
Hmm, difficult one. I'm quite quiet to strangers, but can be a blabbermouth to those I know. So I can't really say its personality on account of that.

If I had to choose, it'd probably be my eyes, the picture isn't very good but they can be quite vivid when outside.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My most current reading list is frankly, a bit pretentious. Nietzsche, Camus, Marcus Aurelius, plus a bit of non-fiction (trying to chew through Bad Pharma by Ben Goldacre currently).

It's been a bit of a tricky year for me, and I like to think of these books as medication for the soul (the metaphorical one, no such entity actually exists).

Movie/TV wise, fan of Black Mirror, Game of Thrones, South Park, Rick and Morty. The list is bigger than that, but I can rarely ever bring it to mind.

I worship the great god, the Spotify Discover Weekly playlist, all hail the algorithm. Seriously, I love being a slave to that musical machine, i'm a fan of whatever it serves up.

Food's good, like, all of it.
The six things I could never do without
A fan (of the oscillating, not the fawning kind)
Headphones, how else can I publicly market my antisociality.
The Manchester Metrolink network.
Contactless Payments.
A deep hatred of people who list 'Water/Food/Oxygen' in this section.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The meaning of life, honestly. I'm basically in the middle of an existential crisis, if you have the answer to it, do let me know, won't you?

Otherwise, the most important decision of the day is always: what do I have for lunch today?
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing Civ in a mildly comatose state after work. I envy those maniacs who can just jump straight into a long weekend of drinking and whatnot directly from work.
You should message me if
If you want to. I'm not your mum, I can't tell you what to do.
