My self-summary
Yikes. These essay sections are intimidating. Um, I'm a nice guy? I guess every guy says that, but I have references.
What I’m doing with my life
Figuring some things out. Possibly getting a teaching degree, possibly going to LA or New York in the near future, but certainly engaging in a great deal of merrymaking with wonderful people who have positive feelings about me (friends).
I’m really good at
Lots of things. I'm a jack of all trades. I just wouldn't advise asking me to fix your car or your computer, as there isn't a mechanical bone in my body.

Specific things I am good at: peeling avocados, carrying on long conversations about old cartoons, self deprecating humor, Scrabble, coming up with ideas for theme parties, making gin and tonics, generally acting like a huge dork.
The first things people usually notice about me
It's hard to say, since I'm usually shy around new people. It's only after a little while that I tend to truly open up. I do frequently get comments on my curly hair, though. People also mention my almost freakish recall, in that I can quote a movie I haven't seen in about twelve years without missing a beat.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
OK, here goes. It's fairly comprehensive.

Books: For an aspiring writer, I certainly don't read as much as I should. I am, however, a huge fan of old comic strips. I've read every Calvin & Hobbes and Peanuts comic there is. I also really like John Swartzwelder's books, like "The Time Machine Did It."

Movies: Back to the Future is my all-time favorite, but I am also partial to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Almost Famous, any Muppet movie, all three Toy Story movies, and I'll never say no to anything that has Batman in it.

TV: The Simpsons, Arrested Development, Twin Peaks, Dexter, Mad Men, Lost, How I Met Your Mother, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Wonder Years... I watch way too much TV. I like most everything... except Family Guy.

Music: Lots of 60s stuff, especially the Beach Boys. My roommates give me a hard time for liking show tunes, but I was a theater kid in high school and old habits die hard.
Six things I could never do without
The bare essentials, eh? When I moved, I took very little with me, so I have my computer, my 20-year-old Sega, and a handful of meaningful knickknacks and photos. I guess that's really it besides clothes.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My future and my past in equal measure. Also ideas for stories, screenplays and things like that.

Lately I've devoted a lot of time thinking about my goals and LA life in general. It's scary when you think you might have made a mistake but you don't even know how you would be able to tell. I'll be here for awhile, but it was a stressful few months. Going home to Florida for a couple of weeks helped me think through it pretty clearly.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with my roommates. They're fun guys. I'd like to go out more, though. If I knew more people and had more money, I'd probably spend more time at the movies and local pubs.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've cried during Pixar movies? They're sad!
You should message me if
you've read all this nonsense and find me remotely interesting.
