My self-summary
I like to think I'm pretty calm under pressure and am always willing to stay the course to do what I think is right - think Vladimir Putin with a sense of humor.

My main passion in life is politics. I have worked on several political campaigns for various Democratic candidates. I am also a musician and enjoy playing my guitar in the middle of the night when my neighbors are trying to sleep (just kidding). In addition, I am also a fan of classic rock, alternative, baroque/classical, jazz, and blues.

My favorite sports team are the Boston Red Sox, Nats, and Buffalo Bills (oh well, they can't all be winners).

I'm generally a book worm in addition to being a political junkie. Some of my favorite authors include John Steinbeck, Edmund Morris, Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, Doris Kearns Goodwin, and Susan Jacoby.

I'm currently a part-time law student in addition to being a full-time worker. In other words, I rock and roll all night and party every day.

I think the late great Glenn Frey of The Eagles had it right on how to live life. Three simple words: Take It Easy.
What I’m doing with my life
I moved down here to the DC metro area a few years ago from New Hampshire (or, as the natives would say,"New Hampshah!").

Over the past couple years, I've really gotten into running and jogging. When I first started, I couldn't run more than a couple minutes without getting winded, but now I can run 5/10ks with relative ease. It's quite a feeling!
I’m really good at
Guitar, political/religious debate, reciting needlees facts that may/may not impress you.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm rather tall - 6'5".
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Comedians - George Carlin, Bill Maher, Chris Rock, Eddie Izzard, Sarah Silverman, Richard, Pryor, Jim Jefferies, Maria Bamford
The six things I could never do without
my guitar, books, Frank's Red Hot sauce (with a side of Tums), cinnamon tooth paste, The Wonder Years, Vitamix blender... those aren't really the six most essential things I assume, just the first six I could think of.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why anyone would get ON a plane, I prefer to get IN the plane... seems to be less wind in the plane.

Is there anything more futile than the modern car alarm? Does anyone actually think these days when they hear a car alarm that the car is actually being stolen? I secretly hope that someone IS stealing it, just so that it will stop making that annoying sound.

Why every pass in football these days seems to result in pass interference.
On a typical Friday night I am
Nowadays it's mostly spent studying and catching up on sleep.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've seen my favorite band, Pearl Jam, 28 times in concert. Though it's not particularly private, I'm sure it's rather unique. Btw, my profile name refers to the year their first album came out, not the year I was born.

In another life, I was a folk singer with a guitar and harmonica in Greenwich Village in the early 1960s struggling to get by with minimal material satisfaction, surviving only on the belief in my musical dreams.
You should message me if
You like what you've read thus far. However, some thresholds must be established, namely...

Dealbreakers:

- smokers
- Nickelback fans
- Nazis

Or you just want to talk about how awesome Donald Trump is and how he and whatever the hell that is on his head will make America great again! UPDATE: the Trump thing has gotten pretty scary and out of hand - no more jokes about him unless he loses in November.

If nothing else appeals to you, remember this: I'm not a hipster - that should probably count for something.
