I'm also helping my sister recover from brain surgery.
"Are you Hagrid's son?" (I of course answered yes)
"You look like what I picture Beorn to look like!" (Before Beorn was shown in the Hobbit movie)
"BEAR MAN!" (Followed by a child trying to grab my beard....this actually happens periodically)
Meanwhile, most adults think I'm scary looking. Even my own mom likes to point that out.
Movies: Same problem here. Children of Men, the Fall, Eternal Sunshine, Dark Knight, Amelie...but there are many more.
I love movies and I try to go to the movie theater as often as possible. So if you like film, we'll have a lot to talk about. And, with a lot of great movies coming out, it would be nice to have a pal to see them with.
TV: LOST, Breaking Bad, Blackish, Game of Thrones, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, STRANGER THINGS, Brooklyn 99....this makes me seem like a TV junkie, but I'm really not. I generally just binge watch from time to time.
Music: The Fratellis, TV on the Radio, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Hans Zimmer, Nina Simone, Kronos Quartet, Phillip Glass, the Section Quartet. I like pretty much all genres and will give everything a chance. My spotify lists has everything from Method Man to Rachmaninoff.
Food: Italian by default. Tacos.
Something to read (Comics or Books)
My job (which I love)
What movie should I watch while grading essays.
At the movies
At home (writing, reading, grading, watching tv, watching movies)
may or may not include friends.
You want to see a movie.
You want to take a walk to the movies.
Or if you think I'm interesting enough
...or want to condemn me for making comics "legitimate" because of the graphic novel classes I teach. (It's happened once)
