I believe in compassion and social justice and have very strong opinions about politics, which I tend to follow very closely. I believe that all humans should have equal access to basic needs such as health care and education.
I also believe in taking action. A great quote to live by: “Washing one's hands of the conflict between the powerful and the powerless means to side with the powerful, not to be neutral. ” (Paulo Freire) So, I do whatever I can to stay involved, whether it be something small, like signing a petition, or something bigger, like showing up for a protest.
I am a social person, although I've always preferred quality over quantity. I spend as much time as possible outdoors.
I also love to travel, and go on at least two major trips a year. I've traveled through much of Europe and Central America so far. My most recent trip was to Costa Rica. What a beautiful country!
And, despite my reverence for what's right, I'm pretty irreverent. Sense of humor is an absolute necessity in times like these! What is the Tea Party up to today? :(
