I am interested in making performance art, Egon Schiele, Nick Cave (the visual artist), painting, drawing, hiking (lightly), cooking, taking last minute road trips--I am extremely spontaneous, swimming, and trying to figure out how to live as an artist. I have a really dark sense of humor, which I think is essential to attempt a life as an artist.
I spend a lot of time thinking about why we make art, how to persist and how to affect change with it.
I make my own body products and have plans to get out a line in the world soon.
I am currently reading the DC Batman Comic series, which is new for me. Just trying to do some light reading after the trauma that is graduate school.
I read tarot cards, and own a chi machine, which I think helps me sleep and relax but I don't really understand why except for the fact that it rocks you back and forth.
My favorite thing to do is go for a drive to a new place. I think it might be because my dad raised me and was really into cars...we were always driving around.
I have a cat named Simon and he is one of my BFFs.
But I also love bluegrass, rockNroll, and experimental shit.
I just read Diane Keaton's Memoir--again, lots of light reading happening after grad school--which I loved. On the heavier shit I am reading Paul Celan's poetry, Women Who Run With The Wolves by Clarissa Estes, Trance Poetics by Kristen Prevallet, and a Caribbean anthology of poetry.
Childhood favorite movie: Mrs. Doubtfire
Current love interest: Madmen--watching it for the first time
Love all kinds of movies except most romantic comedies, unless Drew Barrymore is in it--I love her. Love scary movies and action movies--taking a break from psychological thrillers, too heavy right now.
How to make sense out of this cruel cruel world of resumes, careers and capital. Spending lots of time writing cover letters n shit. Boring.
How inspirational Gordon Ramsey can be.
