My self-summary
In short, I am a social worker (and a licensed therapist) so empathy and human compassion are everything to me thus far in my life. I am a huge fan of human decency and understanding, so I value anyone else who perhaps feels the same.

Creating a "self-summary" is difficult...It's a little daunting thinking how I would begin to combine twenty seven years of life into a few paragraphs. Being a human being is pretty multi-faceted, and fairly hard to condense down to paragraph form.

Here are two juicy nuggets of information for you in the meantime:
- I was a philosophy major, and am fascinated with examining the realm of cognition.
- I've been on kind of a Diablo III kick since around March of 2014.
What I’m doing with my life
I am a therapist at at an inpatient psychiatric hospital, I'm passionate about it and love it deeply.

I was a former filmmaker, and I oftentimes miss that (note: I miss it quite a bit). It is still something I plan on pursuing as a hobby, and filming and video editing are something that I am still extraordinarily passionate about.

I also am doing a lot of watching Netflix, does that count as something I'm doing with my life? Surely it does, talk about productivity. Don't you judge me okcupid.
I’m really good at
I'm good at word games (i.e crossword puzzles, anagrams, etc). I used to want to be a writer, so I'm pretty good with the written word (or at least I'd like to presume that to be true).

I'd also like to believe that I'm pretty good at being compassionate. I know that seems like an odd thing to list as "being good at", but I use the word 'good' purely because cultivating and maintaining a strong sense of compassion is something that I have spent a lot of time into making a daily practice. My patients and colleagues have often told me that I'm a good listener, and although that makes me downright giddy, I recognize that being a expert listener is a lifelong practice. That being said, I value active listening and I feel as though I have a certain knack for making others feel understood and valued.

On a more random note, I got second place in a yo-yo competition when I was about eleven; yeah, that's right, I used to have some pretty sweet yo-yoing skills.
The first things people usually notice about me
I talk very fast, some might argue impressively fast. Of course, I'm working on that. Because, you know, rumor has it that being understood is ideal.

Six things I could never do without
This question makes me want to reevaluate my entire life. I will get back to you regarding this answer.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The fact that I spend far too much thinking in general. True story. I am pretty existential by nature, so I often get stuck on certain thoughts. I would like to work on that, because getting stuck on a thought is not really the root of productivity.

Purpose is significant to me, and a lot of my thoughts tend to drift towards how I can best obtain that purpose and meaning that I so deeply desire.
On a typical Friday night I am
I am probably doing whatever strikes my fancy at the present moment. This could easily involve watching Netflix...Netflix and I have a very special and close bond.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
At my core, I am certainly a romantic. For many acquaintances who know me casually, that might come as a definite surprise. I'm a complicated snowflake.

Oh, and also, I sometimes struggle to live in the present moment. I have a propensity to sometimes either focus on the past or get caught up in hypotheticals involving the future. I'll admit to that.
You should message me if
You find me intriguing, because perhaps I might find you rather captivating as well.

You legitimately are seeking substance and meaning in a relationship, and are curious about yourself and the world.

You find the idea of enhancing mankind indescribably valuable, despite it seeming unattainable.

It could just be the start of something beautiful, you never know.

I honestly do my best to respond to quality messages. If you put a little substance in your message, there's a definite chance I'll respond. I will say this about my responses though, I do pay attention to match percentage. You've got to sort through the madness that is this site somehow!
