My self-summary
I just moved to LA from Chicago a few months ago and am getting used to the strange things we have here, like sun, mountains and the entertainment industry. I'm more fond of the first two but the third is cool too.
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a researcher with a labor union. I learn more than I'd like to know about corporate America and try to use that knowledge to beat companies denying wages, benefits and respect to workers. Also, I yell a lot at hotels.
I’m really good at
Tennis
Hiking/camping/outdoorsing
Walking/crossing the line between funny and offensive
Spelng
Googling/researching things
Burying metal objects that say get a life
The first things people usually notice about me
I am a white man in America, part of the most privileged group in one of the wealthiest, most economically unequal first world countries trying to figure out how to make up for centuries of discrimination and persecution against everyone who isn't a white man. Also I have a beard.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Big comedy fan. SNL has been killing it lately with the Trump sketches. Favorites include Louis CK, Demetri Martin, Greg Fitzsimmons and Wyatt Cenac. I've been enjoying UCB shows like Put Your Hands Together in LA.

I regularly feed my TV addiction with Netflix and HBO. West Wing and the Office are my favorite shows, followed by Shameless, Parks and Rec, the Wire, Stranger Things and Louie.

I also like books, music and food. Nom nom nom.
Six things I could never do without
The outdoors
A sense of humor
Tennis racquet
Car (traffic a bitch tho amirite)
Counting to six
I spend a lot of time thinking about
These days, how an orange blob of chauvinism with bad hair ended up being the (not our) president, and how we can protect immigrants, women, poor people and everyone else he'll come after while still advancing a progressive agenda and practicing self-care.

Also why it's fashionable for guys to wear something that chokes them, why people who are "pro-life" are usually for the death penalty, why you're not supposed to end a sentence with a preposition and bad puns. But mostly the first thing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging with friends, trying a new restaurant, sleeping, playing Settlers of Catan, watching youtube clips of old comedians like George Carlin, augmenting my music collection, wondering why I use words like augment, reading, makings lists.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Somehow, I didn't wear jeans until sophomore year in college. Still not sure how that happened.
You should message me if
You think crunchy peanut butter is always better than creamy. Or if you think we need a revolution. I guess there's other reasons too but those seem to cover the most important things.
