My self-summary
Toronto native who's lived in the UK and NYC. Actor, LGBT activist and advocate, aspiring writer and a junkie for sociopolitical news and discussion. I still make it back to NYC/Brooklyn for a few weeks, multiple times a year, dividing my time.
Applying for Greencard. WERK!

At this point, I'm mainly interested in connecting with other like-minded guys. To varying degrees.

I've been Out since I was a teen in high school and believe in a strong and empowered sense of gay and Queer identity.
That means I don't give a flying fuck how "masc" someone perceives me to be, or not. I stopped caring about such nonsense a long time ago. I'm a gay man who enjoys being a gay man. So if you're one of those gay men who doesn't want people to be able to "know" that you're gay, you're gonna have to walk on by. Real men don't hope to pass for something they're not.

Professional actor, stage and screen, and an ex-dancer. That does not mean "stripper", by the way. Sorry to disappoint.

Massive film buff with a ridiculously expansive DVD collection. I adore cinema.

Former muscleboy. I spent my midtwenties working out like a fiend, 5 days a week at the gym, and earned myself a rather nice body. Then I discovered that the only thing that really did for me was open the doors to shallow guys who were/are so boring it was almost comical. So, I'm not longer a gym-goer. I'm fit, I keep healthy, I eat well, and I exercise. But gym-bodies no longer do it for, especially if they exist just to look "hot." Booooring.

Oh, and I quit smoking. congratulate me, plz.
What I’m doing with my life
Back in Toronto after being out of the country for a few years. Went overseas to London and then spent four years in New York City, so readjusting to the Toronto Lifestyle. Actor with an interest in writing. I've been acting professionally since I was a teenager, and as per the field I tend bar on weekends. Woohoo. Exploring new avenues of the arts.
I’m really good at
Pop-cultural knowledge and dissections of sociological topics. I'm a voracious reader and I like to know what's going on.

I'm incredibly interested in politics and societal dissections. Just sayin'.

And when the mood hits I can be fucking hilarious.
The first things people usually notice about me
"you're shorter in person!"
Yes, and you're less interesting. Thanks.

I'm short. I'm very fit. I have a shaved head. I have tattoos. I wear military combat boots, every day, and a spike-studded belt. And in the summer I'm usually wandering around in a shredded teeshirt.

What does any of that mean? I have no idea. But I'm guessing that's what people will first notice about me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
FILM: Brazil, Magnolia, The Sweet Hereafter, The Tree of Life, Cloud Atlas, Milk, Living Out Loud, Poltergeist, The Ninth Configuration, Network, Jackie Brown, Rachel Getting Married, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, Rock & Rule. David Lynch, Tykwer, PT Anderson, Spielberg, Miyazaki, Tarantino, Woody Allen, Fassbinder, Kurosawa. I'm also a big lover of animated films and documentaries. I *adore* horror films, but that's difficult since so many of them are complete crap. Intelligent horror exists, but it's like finding gold. Love the so-bad-it's-good cult and camp classics and the hag-horror sub-genres.

MUSIC: Opera, Bjork, David Bowie, The Ramones, Melanie Safka, Annie Lennox, Debbie Harry, Cheap Trick, film scores, Philip Glass, The Go! Team, Robyn, Sigur Ros, Pink Floyd, the Go! Team, this mortal coil, the yeah yeah yeahs,

FOOD: I love enjoying various foods from different cultures, even if my tastebuds and my digestive system argue about it. T.M.I.? ;-)
Sushi, Greek, Indian, French, Chinese

BOOKS: Ethan Mordden, Jane Austen, Armistead Maupin, William Peter Blatty. The Grapes of Wrath, Lolita, ROOTS, Beloved, autobiographies, historical fiction.
Six things I could never do without
Besides food, water, and oxygen?
Cock. There. I said it.

But seriously...

Art/Culture. It's my lifeblood.
Yes, I know that's broad and vague but this question puzzles me.

a sturdy frying pan. my iPod. thick-cut bacon.

forget it, I'll need to come back to this one later because I can't think of anything legit or clever enough to not be legit.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Sociopolitics. The collective impact we have on each other and the planet. LGBT Rights, the ongoing Civil Rights Movement, racial prejudice in society, and how to create a culture of understanding that celebrates diversity.

Fun shit, eh?

Ill also think about The Simpsons a lot. And how Romy & Michele's High School Reunion will always be endlessly quotable.
On a typical Friday night I am
working. ugh.
when not working, i'd likely be rolling a joint with my best friend or heading to the movies. not a big drinker, but if there's a fun crew heading out somewhere social i'm sure my ass would have a good time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
There's would-be-hateful graffiti written about me on a bathroom wall in a gay bar downtown and I choose to think that's hilarious and flattering.
You should message me if
if you don't want to punch me in the face after reading any of these....
