My self-summary
I am Lost, Dazed, and Confused

I am a mature (sometimes) male looking to re-enter life as a human being, after a number of years as a semi-hermit vegetable.

(Well I finally found someone who would risk breaking their camera and take a picture of me. And lo and behold the camera survived....sort of....I think. Nikon's are tough cameras. Now I need to talk them into it again as the ponytail is gone.)

I am open to any of the relationships listed: New friends, Long-term dating, Short-term dating, Activity partners, Long-distance penpals, and of course Casual encounters (sex partners) - I am a DIRTY OLD Man after all.

What expect to gain from OkCupid are friends & activity partners locally and friends/penpals anywhere. I am not sexist, racist or ageist so feel message me whoever you are. Ignore the age range in the "Looking For" section friends of any age are welcome.

I have noticed that my highest scores in "Match" and "Friend" seem largely with people ten or more years younger that me. I think(hope) this means that I have a younger outlook on life and am not just a Dirt OLD Man.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to create a new one.

- Changing professions moving into IT Support. - New
Doing a lot of computer support for lower income families through the Working Centre's Computer Recycling Program.

Currently doing my CompTIA A+ cert. training online and attending Conestoga College full time studying to be a "cable guy" (Low Voltage Cabling Techniques)

Right now most evening my head hurts, first 3 courses "Electrical Theory & Math", "RF (radio frequency) Electronics" and "Networks" (N+ certs training).

Scientific notation, logs, binary math, hexadecimal math.....I'm dreaming in 1s & 0s.

Friends ..... some, but can ALWAYS use more.

Lovers ..... nope not there yet, It happens when it happens..

Health ... getting better ..... got a scare a couple of years ago just about lost my leg because of Diabetes (type 2) ....lost 50 pound and have had to drastically change my lifestyle, but it is working.
I’m really good at
Saying stupid things.....see.

Thinking outside the box.

Playing devils advocate.

Solving OTHER PEOPLE'S computer problems (never seem to have time to completely finish my own)

Laughing at myself

Driving: After 2 million miles and 30+ year of driving I discovered my license was under suspension (for over 5 years), for a seat belt ticket! Now I have to start just like a 16 year old, G1 for one year then (broke down and did Drivers Ed 8months and passed into G2), G2 for another, THEN my G license like a real driver. (There is a story behind all this......a real comedy of errors)

Writing positive things about myself.....NOT.

Installing cable.

Answering this one will require me to be in much different mood then I am in now, so check back again this list should grow....I hope.
The first things people usually notice about me
They never tell me. They are either running in terror or pointing at me and laughing too hard to talk.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read/watch Sci-Fi and Fantasy for entertainment/escapism. I am very bad at trying to pick a favorite as it changes with my mood.

I use an Asus Transformer Tablet (Android) as an eReader and carry it with me most of the time....have read most of the Baen Free Library. (and low and behold the local library system supports Android but not Linux, which my other computer run.)

I tend to use the Internet and magazines for reading in my areas of non-fictional interests; science & technology, history and current events.

Music, well if they ain't "sangin & twaging' about their broken hearts (hard country), or rapping about killing cops, there is a good chance I will like it.

But Weird Al has a special place in my musical heart.

Oh ya I Love Bagpipe music, you know where the musician looks to have a cat under his arm with its tail in his mouth and it sounds about the same.

I enjoy playing games (role playing, board and computer stratagy games) not head games. I have played D&D for nigh on 3 decades and worked in the industry for many years.

My favorite meals are the ones I didn't make.
Six things I could never do without
"never do without"? There is very little in life I have not done without at one time or another.

"The six things I would never willing do without."
Friends, a job, challenges, books, computers and nits to pick.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Thinking???????? with which head?

Looking ahead figuring out to overcome the challenges/problems I will face at work and in my life.

About other things ... but I can't think of just what right now.
On a typical Friday night I am
"Sitting home watching TV or reading .. Alone....... THAT is one of the things I trying to change ... looking for friends to do things with."

Things have improved somewhat since that bid of self pity was written. Thou Friday's still are kind of quiet....tend to be out and about more on weeknights.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a weird person .... No, wait, that's a public thing, but then who wants to be normal anyway?

I am Lonely.
You should message me if
You just want see if we could be friends.

Want someone to go to the movies, a play or other event with, in the KW area.

Or just to talk online (or in person) about just about anything except sports,

ALSO if you want to have mad passionate sex, or any thing in between.

Though friendship first would be better I think... (but why do I keep trying to spell Friend "fiend" ?...Freudian slip or bad typing??)
The two of us
