My self-summary
Affection is responsible for nine-tenths of whatever solid and durable happiness there is in our lives.
- C. S. Lewis

I think you just have to meet me. I'll just say that I am kind, funny (I think and am told), I can read and write, have all teeth and appendages, a fairly happy existence and am just looking for some companionship and to see where it might go.

I do like some alone time, too and don't need constant attention. The flip-side is that I am an extremely affectionate person when I am into somebody. And I don't argue about the kinds of things that are easily forgotten in a weeks time. I'm pretty mellow that way.

I also love my family, though they are mostly on the East Coast in North Carolina, Maryland, etc. I get back there 3 or 4 times a year to see them. And, yes, I love my Mom...and Dad.

Love the friends too. Don't have 7000 Facebook friends or feel the need to have 100 friends in reality. I have enough and keep it quality.

I am honest and don't try to manipulate or withhold. There are no agendas in my mind. If I see one sneaking in, I cut it loose. Anyhow I am just rambling now. It's impossible to objectively describe oneself in a few paragraphs, so I will stop here. :0)
What I’m doing with my life
Living it happily, as much as possible anyway. I don't laugh like an idiot at all times....but sometimes yes. I consider anyone lucky enough to have been born has already won the race of a lifetime.
I’m really good at
Playing guitar, piano and drums, watching movies, outstanding gardener, building anything, cooking (always learning more), learning something new all the time...
The first things people usually notice about me
My spider-like physique. Some people say I look like Will Ferrell but I don't see it. I may act a bit like him though, so if you are looking for a stoic or some kind of dreamy, quiet bad-ass... good luck.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I don't think we'd be reading together, so...
Music I like anything that gives me goosebumps.
I'm learning to make Thai Food.
Steven Colbert, Jon Stewart and The Onion are my favorite sources of news of late.
Six things I could never do without
Instruments (musical), Family, Sun, Oceans/Lakes (no not in that order necessarily) and cooking experiments
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to live in the actual moment. People, including this guy, have been taught sort of accidentally to think in terms of what future events will look like and/or what the past did look like. This makes it impossible to enjoy anything in the present. I am relearning how to think in the present
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing guitars with one of musician friends, playing my piano, out watching music, listening to NPR and reading or watching movies on my home theater set-up. I am a bit of an audio buff. Also have a fireplace and use it whenever it is even remotely cold. And, yes, I burn wood. "Spare the Air" can eat me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have nothing to hide really, but if I were to disclose anything private it would not be on the internet. People learn that the hard way all too frequently.
You should message me if
...you have been perusing this human library and NOT sending any messages because you are tentative about the idea of actually meeting somebody new. Don't worry. Most people are :>) ...at least I think so.
The two of us
