My self-summary
(Last updated March 2015) I live in Spokane with my girlfriend in a house I bought a few years ago, with a yard that I'm gradually turning into a food forest. I make a lot of pies and sourdough bread, I go barefoot as much as possible, and I enjoy thinking about big questions and taking naps.

If you're into personality typing systems, I'm Myers-Briggs INTP, and Enneagram 5w4.
What I’m doing with my life
I've had a blog since 2005 at ranprieur.com, and I continue to post three times a week. In the last year I've been getting deeper into music and television.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: If I were to define my identity with five books, they would be The Book of the Damned (Charles Fort), A Splendid Conspiracy (Albert Cossery), The Chronicles of Amber (Roger Zelazny), Little, Big (John Crowley), and Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō (Hitoshi Ashinano).

Movies: The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Brazil, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Wages of Fear, The Third Man, The President's Analyst, Point Break, Meet the Feebles, Desperate Living, Repo Man.

TV shows: Orphan Black, Fringe, Misfits, Fresh Meat, X-Files, Game of Thrones, Firefly.

Music: Big Blood, Hawkwind, Electric Moon, Orphans & Vandals, Camper Van Beethoven, Beat Happening, Bob Dylan, Windhand.

Food: I make a lot of pizza, I like to munch dandelion roots, and my favorite restaurant food is Ethiopian, because it's on sourdough bread, spicy, buttery, and you eat it with your hands.
The six things I could never do without
Great blocks of time where there's nothing I'm supposed to be doing, my imagination, good food, the internet unless nobody has it, human company in moderation, and openings to explore.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...everything, all the time. I wonder if quantum functions never really collapse but we all just agree to see them the same way. Lately I've been thinking that the human desire for life to have meaning has done more harm than good.
On a typical Friday night I am
At home. Every other weekend I eat some cannabutter, listen to music, and give my GF a foot massage.
