My self-summary
I will be continuing to add to/edit this as new thoughts come to mind.

Oh, and I HATE most photos of myself, so probably not going to post many.

Yes, I am looking for casual encounters, but equally, if not more so, I am looking for friends that I can chat with, whether it be about music, books, dragons, unicorns, video games, whatever. I have issues talking to strangers face to face occasionally, which is why clubbing doesn't really work for me unless I'm with a group, which doesn't happen often.

I play a couple of different instruments, primarily trombone and tuba. It's what keeps me going. I will listen to anything if it's on, but when playing, I prefer playing soundtrack pieces or slow swing ballads (kinda weird, I know).

I try to be completely honest, even though it can make me seem harsh at times. Please don't be offended by it.

I am enlisting in the US Navy in a few months, so I don't have time to commit to a long term relationship, but I am more than willing to make some new friends and maybe have a short relationship or two, depending.

I have very little practical experience with dating, due to my overwhelming self-consciousness, self-loathing, and severe shyness when it came to dealing with the opposite sex. I do however know what turns me on/off, and am not afraid to admit that. This all sounds very strange, but I am working past the shyness/low self confidence as we speak, also, there are various reason for the other part, which I do not want to explain here. I will explain it if you ask.

I REFUSE to judge people solely on their looks, though it does play a factor, as it will be a factor even if it doesn't seem like it is at the time. I had that happen far too often to me during my school years, and do not wish half the pain that I felt on my most hated enemy.

I realize that this is beginning to become a very long summary, but there is a lot that I figured out that I wanted to put out there.

I am not perfect, nor will I ever be. If you want to talk to me, you have to be able to accept that. There are a few things that you should try to avoid if you can while talking to me:
1.) Spelling and grammar- If it is only occasionally or something very minor, I'll let it go, but if you make more spelling mistakes than my 5 year old niece, we'll have an issue.
2.) Being judgmental- Don't make a snap judgment about me. I'm more complex than the questions/tests/summary on this site can show. Get to know me.
3.) Being close-minded- I am completely straight, but I am still a large supporter of LBGT rights. If you ARE homophobic, that's up to you, just please don't try and force your opinions onto me. Same goes for religion and politics. I like to debate, but there is a difference between a debate and putting someone else's values and insights underneath your notice.
What I’m doing with my life
Working my way to enlisting into the Navy. I have to lose some weight before I get in, and it's not going to be easy, but the Navy is the best option for me. I am currently living with my folks due to the fact that I do not have the finances to support myself in an apartment, even with roommates. I am looking for better paying job than my current one, which is a commission based job where I have to find and contact my own set of customers. Very stressful, but it can be very rewarding at times.
I’m really good at
REALLY good at? Reading. procrastinating. Alright at? Playing tuba, video games (RTS and other logic based games), hugs, listening. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.
The first things people usually notice about me
My glasses, the instrument in my hand, my frankly weird sense of humor, my distinct lack of a filter around friends, as well as the fact that I almost always have some sort of book on hand, just in case.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Too many individual books to choose from, so I choose to list SOME of my favorite authors. This is not even CLOSE to a full list, but, oh well.

Anne McCaffery
J.K. Rowling
J.R.R. Tolkien
George R.R. Martin
Daniel Abraham
Stephen R. Donaldson
James Patterson

Anything with Will Smith in it.
Django Unchained
Star Trek (both originals and new)
Star Wars

Don't watch but,
Criminal Minds

Music: (VERY long list, this isn't complete)
Two Steps From Hell
Peter Hollens
Fall Out Boy
Tenacious D
Imagine Dragons
John Williams
3 Doors Down
A variety of Dub artists.

Fried Chicken
Green beans
Lima beans
Beans in general
Steak (medium rare)
Hot Pockets

Wow, this is a long list. O.o
Six things I could never do without
In no particular order
1.) Books.
2.) Music.
3.) Food.
4.) Water.
5.) Shelter.
6.) Good friends.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Hypothetical situations involving the apocalypse.
The behavior of others.
Why we, as humans, exist and whether or not a god, or gods, created the human race.
Whether we are alone in the universe.
Music I could write/play.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing absolutely nothing and/or exercising to lose weight.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Reading and music are the two things that literally kept me alive through middle and high school, both of them being ways for me to escape everyday life.
You should message me if
You just want to talk, or if you are also a low brass musician, or some various reason that makes you want to, I don't really care why.
The two of us
