My self-summary
I like to say that I'm the least nerdy computer guy you'll meet. I'm a bit of an introvert, but I love to hang out with friends in small gatherings. Punctuation and spelling matter, so I'm a touch anal-retentive about such things. I love to laugh, and I love to make everybody else laugh, too.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm trying to get back to doing some of the things that I've been too apathetic or too injured to do; cycling, indoor rock climbing, and autocrossing are my big ones for this year. I'm happy with my job developing software for a company in downtown Portland, and I love living out in the woods.
I’m really good at
Word games, inline hockey, and solving complicated problems.
The first things people usually notice about me
I laugh a lot, and loudly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Sci-fi, mostly; Asimov for the classics, Iain M. Banks is one of my new favorite authors. John Scalzi is good, too, and reminds me a lot of Heinlein, which is never a bad thing. For movies I'm a comedy/action/adventure fan, though I have a particular attraction to post-apocalyptic movies; end-of-the-world zombie movies take the cake. Music? Anything but country. Food? I'll eat most things.
Six things I could never do without
Boy, was I tempted to be snarky here... (food, water, air...)

1) Cell phone
2) A fun car
3) Pets
4) Computers
5) Rural living
6) ...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to simplify my life.
Politics - why is it that everything's turned into an us-vs.-them mentality?
Starting some new hobbies.
On a typical Friday night I am
Home, relaxing with the pets.
You should message me if
... you want to. Who am I to say why you should send someone a message?
The two of us
