My self-summary
It's amusing how many profiles here complain this part of the profile. On the one hand, writing about yourself should be easy because everyone knows about themselves, but on the other hand there's information over load and trying to figure out what to put in a self-summary can be daunting. And with that in mind, here's my attempt at my self-summary.

I'm 28 and have lived in the area for most of my life. I spent about eight years the Marines and got to spend some time in Iraq, Morocco and Mozambique during those eight years. I've been out since about 2010. Generally, I'm pretty easy going. I'm kinda quiet at first but open up after awhile. I enjoy playing D&D (I'm a dork and embrace my dorkiness) and video games, swimming, shooting things (I am a Marine after all), reading and until recently, playing WoW. I also play Warhammer 40k and Warhammer fantasy. Though lately I've been doing more painting than playing, mostly due to work. Yes, I'm a dork. No, I don't care.

My humor tends to be a little dry, sarcastic and more than a bit dark at times. I tend to toe the line with just about everything until I'm told I've gone too far or I can tell I've crossed a line. Or in a few rare cases, I think I've gone too far. But despite this, I'm not a bad guy. It's just hidden and usually isn't seen at first or on command.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently a student at UW Seattle and just got into the psych major. I'll be starting it next quarter.

Aside from that, I'm also working, trying to get back into shape and not spending nearly as much time painting my Warhammer stuff as I'd like to. Hopefully that will chance when the quarter is over.
I’m really good at
I've been told I'm good at back rubs. Never given myself one, so I wouldn't know. I've also been told I'm good at correcting stuff. Hell, even had a boss have me start proof reading his reports before he sent 'em to his boss. I'm also good at Tetris, Jenga and probably Twister though I haven't played it in awhile.

I'm not so good at writing people messages (at least not at first), but I do it anyway. They tend to come off as rambling and possibly ponderous.
The first things people usually notice about me
I dunno. I've never asked anyone this. Though, lately, if I don't have a sweat shirt or jacket on, I would assume it's the tattoo on my forearm.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
It really bothers me when people have these HUGE lists for these things. "Favorite" is not every book, movie, show, or band that you listen to/read/watch/etc. It should be a some what short list of those things that you could read/watch/listen to over and over and over again and not get bored or that you find something new in each time you read/watch/listen to it. Also, when it's too damn long, I tend to just skip over it.

a) The Sword of Truth series, Wheel of Time series (so looking forward to the last book), the Redwall series. Yes, I realzie these are series and not just books, but I can't remember the last stand alone book I read
b) Braveheart, Transformers the Movie, the original Star Wars movies and the Family Guy versions, Punisher (not War Zone)
c) These are pretty much the shows my roommate and I watch without fail when they aren't reruns: Big Bang Theory, How I met Your Mother, NCIS, NCIS: LA, The Mentalist, Hawaii Five-O. Shows we've watched via netflix that we thoroughly enjoyed: BSG, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dexter
d) Local boys Kirby Krackle. They're an awesome nerd rock band. After them, I would have to say my favorite band is Rise Against with Weird Al coming in close behind them. I like bits of everything and aside from the rock, I listen to more than a bit of country too.
e) I've been trying to eat healthier lately, but that's easier said than done. I still definitely love me some steak, lasagna, cookie dough and Mt. Dew. Though I've never tried all three at one meal, might have to do that later...
Six things I could never do without
Aside from the obvious basics (food, air, water, shelter, clothes, companionship) that it seems like half the people here put down:
Gaming of some sort, swimming, my cat Isis, books, and hm... I'm not sure. I'll fill the last two out later.

And I can do without these things, and have on more than a few occasions, I just don't enjoy it at all.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lately, school stuffs and what I'm going to do at the gym.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably playing Diablo 3. I haven't really made many friends at school, so I don't really get out and do much.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The answers to this of "if I told you then it wouldn't be private any more," "ask me to find out," or any variation there of are just cop outs to answering this. It's more of "what's something most people don't know about you/probably won't come up in conversation but is interesting." It doesn't have to be something like "I was once attacked by a pack of rabid rabbits and am now terrified of them and their little pink noses and floppy ears." I had a better example but then realized that it could have actually happened to someone, so changed it.
I took 7 or 8 years of speech therapy. I will correct you if you pronounce something wrong. It's nothing against you, just a quirk of mine.
You should message me if
Just message me. What's the worst that could happen? We talk a bit and then realize we don't really have anything in common? Well, that's not the WORST that could happen, but it is at first. If you write me, I'll more than likely write back. I know how difficult it is to write that first message.
I'm mostly just looking for new friends, I leave anything beyond that up to how things go. Also, I usually don't pay attention to the percentages. Even people with very different views on things can become good friends.
The two of us
