My self-summary
How to describe myself, difficult really. You'll most likely find me these days either playing a pen and paper RPG with friends, messing around on a game like Stardew Valley (how i missed that harvest moon kind of game) or with my nose in a book, usually a book on my phone (what a thing it is to live in the future!) - or living with the realisation that I am living in the future - at least the kind of future all those sci-fi writers I read thought about.

I can be a little introverted sometimes, and I think I take a little time to get used to someone, and what they enjoy talking about After that, I can be quite opinionated and vocal. I'd like to think I'm best at lending a sympathetic ear, even though this sometimes requires me to bite my tongue.

I always have a lot of time to spare for my friends. I'm very much of the opinion friends are the family you get to choose. I only have a small circle of friends at the moment, but I'm always looking to expand it.
What I’m doing with my life
Insurance - but I'm not actually evil.
I’m really good at
remembering useless facts
forgetting important facts
being very un-photogenic (I'm mid blink in about half the photos people take of me)
The first things people usually notice about me
'I'd trade hair with you any day' - I've heard this more than a couple of times so
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books; The Diskworld Series, and the other Pratchett books, David Eddings' books and the Dune trilogy. Beyond that I'll read quite a lot of things, usually Sci-fi or fantasy though.

I've been reading a lot of David Webber recently (The Safehold and Honnor Harrington series)

I'm also listening to an audio book version of Glen Cook's "the black company" - its really good and the narrator really makes it click

Movies; Monty Python Movies, Enemy at the Gates, Serenity and Ghibli films, but I'm not too picky, though I don't like many horror films.

Music; I like rock music, mainly the more glam rock artists like David Bowie or Queen at the moment, but I also enjoy some of the more modern bands. I also enjoy some soul, motown and so on, and I also listen to some classical music every now and then, i particularly enjoy the Baroque style. I'm also trying to get into Jazz. I like some of it, other bits not so much.

Television; I've stoped watching much tv nowadays. Still, I love yes minister, yes prime minister, life on mars, red dwarf and Star Trek.
The six things I could never do without
Good Friends
Something to read - I'll often find myself at an odd end without a book
Satire - I like to keep up with politics, and the things that are worth making jokes about are almost always important, so editorial cartoons and private eye are things I love
Radio - Old fashioned enough to have one, modern enough to make sure its digital. I have it on all the time, I love having music in the background.
Games - Not just computer games, I mean anything from board games to crosswords, just something that requires a little bit of thought to keep me occupied - if anyone out there wants to play go with me Im trying to learn but have no one to play with but the internet.
Internet - Sad, but true. The internet provides me with access to pretty much everything in the previous five things, music if I don't want to listen to my radio, games, political satire and lots to read. Skype also let me keep in touch with friends I cant see all that often, so I'd say its very important to me.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
whatever I'm doing, I usually try to thing of ways of doing it better. Though this usually just ends up in me getting distracted and daydreaming.
On a typical Friday night I am
At the moment, not much. I work saturday mornings. I do go out saturdays but as virtually everyone I know now lives in London, Scotland or somewhere else thats not near Manchester, I don't get up to much. I think I'd like to remedy that
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have been known to sing Gilbert and Sullivan songs whilst in the shower. I've forgotten most of the words now though...
You should message me if
You fancy talking politics (preferably over a drink because these days I'll need something to soften the blow)
You have a burning passion for Jazz music and want to tell me all about it, because I know nothing but I'd really like to know more about it.
If you just want to talk with someone or you're looking to make a new friend, I could do with some more since all mine no longer seem to live round here.
Or you just want to
