My self-summary
I love cooking with other people and having loud, uproarious group dinners. I have a strong belief that music in the kitchen is as essential as garlic (also extremely important).

I'm extremely open and honest, and sometimes I'm not feisty but just sort of chill and really into reading and napping. About half the time I have a book accidentally nudged under the sheets of my bed.

I think confidence is insanely hot and a sense of humor makes me melt.
What I’m doing with my life
Officially? I'm a researcher.

I've been trying to keep up with a yoga practice. Working on meditating. My promise to myself for this year (forget all the hype about resolutions) is to be more involved in social justice.
I’m really good at
...playing with dogs.
...taking naps.
...dancing with headphones on.
...taking fast showers.
...baking cookies.
...not editing/fixing my writing or artwork because I'm so content with my first efforts (I'm working on this)
...making sex jokes. ("just like my first time" is the new "that's what she said")
The first things people usually notice about me
The fact that I wiggle a lot (sometimes I consider it dancing, sometimes I'm just cold) or my foul mouth.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: Recently I realized that if someone would sing Odessa "Hummed Low" to me I would probably dissolve into a puddle. Santigold. Collie Buddz. Garth Brooks (left over from my childhood). Bonnie Raitt. Paul Simon. Tegan and Sara. The Decemberists. LP. Ben Howard. The Weeknd.

Movies: Im easily entertained by comedy and ironic horror/documentaries. I like movies that leave a taste in my mouth. Avatar (it was my first 3D movie and one of my first movies after 2 years in Africa). I haven't seen anything really that good in awhile - I liked the Sundance shorts that I saw at IU a little while ago...

Books: The Little Prince. The Sparrow. Into the Wild (great movie, great soundtrack too). Como Agua por Chocolate. Maus I & II. Recently I've read a lot of books I really liked/was floored by - Room, Let the Great World Spin, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.

Foooooood: I can't eat spicy food (I know, it's a character flaw). I adore cheese. I tend toward vegetarianism. My life would be splendorless without good pizza. I'm just learning the wonders of Indian food. I'm all about sushi but am still sort of clumsy with it.
Six things I could never do without
The priority would change depending on the day but...
pen and paper ..can I count that as one?
sex and/or physical affection.
*Recently I've decided that most of us say the same shit to answer this question and I'd be a much more interesting person if I just listed off stuff in the room like 1. A can opener. 2. Dog food 3. Jeans 4. A bike light 5. An apron covered in skulls 6. A cactus cookie cutter
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why I can't remember any of the constellations besides Orion's Belt and occasionally one of the dippers.
What place I'd like to visit next.
Whether I could/should make some drastic spiritual decision and go meditate for long periods of time (I usually come to the conclusion that I'm not really awesome enough for that)
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing theme dinners with my girls. Going to shows/plays/cultural spectaculars. Dancing badly somewhere. And more and more, I'm having some regenerative time with wine and a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I think jeans are one of the sexiest things anyone can wear. The right pair of jeans will captivate me. It's literally beyond my comprehension how others don't find them as hot as I do.

I don't really have much "private" stuff and so I've edited this section a couple of times deciding that various facts were a little too... much to put on a profile
You should message me if
You think this is anywhere on the spectrum from amusing to hilarious.

You're fun-loving and easy-going. You're passionate but not closed-minded. You love long, aimless chats over drinks/coffee/dinner. You're able to talk about your emotions.
If you're super far away, it's less likely that I'll respond. I hate long distance things and I usually can find sparkly people around me that are lovely. Also, if you identify as "country" in any way, I'm probably not your girl.
I feel bad that I come across as femme/vanilla as I often do. But, if you got any queer or gender bending blood in ya bring it on 'cuz it drives me wild.
