My self-summary
Having recently loved and lost, my heart could be considered damaged goods. Two positive thoughts emanated from the experience. One, as my 93 year old mother has often said: "When one door closes, another opens." Two, the discovery of the knowledge I can still love deeply, be mentally, physically and emotionally capable of the joy of a relationship is particularly edifying. Since I met my previous partner online, I am optimistic it can happen again, however, honesty requires the admittance of the vulnerability of a rebound.

Last October, two buddies and I took an RV around the Grand Canyon and all the major national parks in Utah. Getting caught up in everyday living, it can be easy to forget how big and beautiful our country truly is. We enjoyed the trip so much, we are now planning a like trip to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Yellowstone and the Tetons in early October this year.

Do you want to get more enjoyment in life by sharing moments with someone who is open to many concepts of having fun? I am looking for a loving life partner to find joy in doing common things together, sharing both domestic and international travel, hikes, cultural events, and whatever is mutually satisfying.
What I’m doing with my life
Self employed, working a few hours each week because I enjoy it, and being thankful for every healthy day on the planet. Active member of the Foster City Rotary Club (since 1979), helped install playground equipment in the Yurok Tribe reservation the last week of March 2016. A member of the San Mateo Elks (since 1982) primarily to take advantage of the workout facilities of the Lodge.
I’m really good at
Putting people at ease because I find every person met has an interesting story to tell. As a lifelong athlete, I'm generally good at sports, except golf. Have won awards for my video work while scuba diving (over 400 dives).
The first things people usually notice about me
Good friends would describe me as easygoing, affable, generous, intelligent, considerate, and quick to laugh.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: history; political, biographical, and animal oriented.
Movies: political drama; action; romantic comedy.
Music: all except rap.
Food: whatever is in front of me.
The six things I could never do without
Working out to stay healthy.
Daily newspaper.
My friends.
A good laugh.
Politics.
Sports, especially the Giants, 49ers, and Warriors.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
As a Rotarian, I'm concerned with our global village and improving the lot of impoverished people around the world. I am an unabashed liberal and love to discuss politics even though the level of the "discourse" of the current campaigns is appalling.

My 5 year bucket list is travel oriented: Machu Picchu, Galapogos, dancing the tango on the streets of Argentina, New Zealand, and watching the wildebeest crossing the Mara River in Kenya.
On a typical Friday night I am
There is no typical Friday night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
If I admit it here, it is no longer private...
You should message me if
..what was said above resonates with you. Every day is a gift to be enjoyed to the utmost. Perhaps by meeting, we may enhance each other lives. The beauty of love is, no matter how much is given, there is an infinite reservoir from which to give again.
