My self-summary
I like to think that I am a pretty genuine guy... what you see is what you get (does everyone say that?). I enjoy joking around and being playful... anything from witty banter (can I claim that about myself?) to rolling around with my nephews and niece trying my hardest to fend off their highly advanced karate moves. I can be fairly sarcastic, but I try not to do so at the expense of others.

I am a romantic (at least, I think so) and I enjoy spending quality time with the lady in my life... I like to do spontaneous things to see a smile on her face.

One of the challenges, I think, to a site like this and a personality profile is that I, like most people, am not one dimensional. Yes, I love some adventure... traveling, camping, anything really... but I also like to do quiet things like sitting on a covered porch on a summer night listening to the rain fall. I love spending time with friends and family but I also like to take a walk through the park by myself.

I am definitely a social creature. I am not a fly on the wall at gatherings and yet I don't particularly enjoy huge crowds... confused yet?

As far as what I am looking for...

The short answer is... I'll know it when I see/hear/feel it. I could make a list of qualities (and I will list a few) but, ultimately, I think it comes down to how you feel when you are with another person. I could say I'd like to be with someone intelligent... but what is that? Book smarts, street smarts, empathy, wit? Any and all of those would be great, but I don't think I could quantify what I want or need... it'll come down to how I feel.

With that said... honesty is critical. Someone who has a good sense of who they are, what they want in a relationship and life would be nice. A sense of humor and a true sense of tolerance and consideration for others.

Oh, please don't smoke crack or club baby seals!
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to stop people from saying "irregardless" and "for all intensive purposes"...
I’m really good at
Doing a fake opera voice. Getting my feet in and out of shoes without tying/untying the laces. Shaving animal shapes into my chest hair (this is a joke... but maybe I'll try). Making people laugh so hard they pee (I have several documented accounts notarized and verified).

I am extremely bad at navigation... so, I invented GPS. Well, maybe less invented and more bought. However, I do love to travel... so, adventure is bound to ensue.
The first things people usually notice about me
The third eye in the center of my forehead... actually, I am getting a little ahead of myself, I haven't had that surgically implanted yet... but... mark my words, it is on the way!

... or my smile and sense of humor... I'm generally in a good mood and take great pleasure in making fun of myself.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Valis and Ubik by Philip K. Dick
Big fan of Tolstoy and Dostoevsky
Anything Shakespeare
Umm... I dig Harry Potter (maybe sad, but true)
A Song if Ice and Fire (series) - George R.R. Martin (Yes, I compulsively tell people I read the books before the show... It's a character flaw, I know... I'm working on it)
Random spiritual, political, and free thinking books.

The Princess Bride
Seven Pounds
Braveheart (I'm a dude, don't judge me)
Almost anything Mel Brooks
Guilty Pleasure Movie: Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon

Mostly Rock but I'll listen to anything... some of my favorites are Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, any of the incarnations of Chris Cornell.

I like trying new and different foods but I tend to shy away from "over-fancy".... I prefer not to have corn, tarragon, and eel on my burger.
The six things I could never do without
Family (especially my niece and nephews)
My glorious bed
Air Conditioning (Car and Home)
Umm... my liver?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything... my brain won't stop. It tends to lead to insomnia.
On a typical Friday night I am
Friday night is actually more of a decompression night for me after the work week... visiting the niece and nephews, low-key hanging with friends, or just crashing on the couch to watch some of the nonsense I have no recollection of setting my DVR to record. Saturday is more of my night to go out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I wake up early and I am instantly awake... so, uhh... I guess that makes me a morning person. For some reason, everyone hates that. It might have something to do with the singing and jumping around.
You should message me if
You want to get to know me, want to make some chit followed by some chat...
