My self-summary
I have always been the kind of person who is able to find irony and beauty within anything. I am a textbook example of an ENTP; intelligent, discerning, empathetic if not pissed off, well-spoken with developed oratory skills, and am usually the first person people come to when they need a capable leader for their project or want something built within the realm of intangibles. (Software, leadership, writing, scientific hypothesis, you name it.)

I'm originally from California (lived there for 23 years) and decided to move out to Colorado to escape Silicon Valley. I work as a freelance web developer, and the culture out here is less toxic and the rate of professional burnout is much lower. It's an awesome time to be an entrepreneur, and Denver is definitely going to explode with tech in the next five years. I like to think I have found my second home, and all signs point toward that as well.

I enjoy the outdoors, martial arts, live music, seafood, and the company of people who genuinely want to improve themselves. I love bouncing ideas off of people and find perspective to be extremely valuable.
What I’m doing with my life
I am currently working as a freelance web developer (programming, I build websites and web services) working over 60 hours a week (two contracts), but I get to set my own hours. I have a lot of late nights, not so many early mornings, and can always make time for what I want and need to do. I am as flexible as you can be while still working, and having income based upon how many hours you actually want to work opens a lot of doors in life.

I would one day like to help spearhead educational reform in America. I have always rebelled against traditional education, as I feel that learning isn't about busywork or homework and classroom time could be better spent teaching people about how to apply information instead of simply how to hard-code it and remember arbitrary facts.

I'm also a huge proponent of the mind-body connection in people. I trained as a martial artist for seven years and acquired a black belt, and I have always applied the things learned from that time in my life to other activities to great success.
I’m really good at
I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do that took me seven years to earn. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about how my training set me up for success in other facets of my life. Mindset and being comfortable with not knowing everything is key.

I am a self-taught programmer who is able to make a profitable living off of it. It took hard work and a ton of networking, but it was great to have something like a small business that you built with your own two hands from the ground up.

I'm also a video game wizard. Dark Souls is my jam, and I used to play a lot of Counter Strike. I enjoy games that have a really high skill cap as I like to exploit nuances and novel strategies when I'm being competitive. Gotta keep them off balance, you know?
The first things people usually notice about me
If we are talking personality traits, I'd say my open-mindedness and willingness to talk about just about anything without casting judgement. People appreciate that and see it in me immediately.

If we talking about my physicality, the most common comment I get from strangers is, "Have you ever modeled?". It has gotten old at this point. I have nice facial structure and a sound body, but I'll be damned if I ever take a modeling job.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I am going to go by media type:

Music: Queen, The Pillows, Gorillaz, Jack's Mannequin, Cage the Elephant, Nujabes, Explosions in the Sky, Immortal Technique, Rachmoninoff... the list goes on. I have extremely varied music tastes and will listen to just about anything once.

Books: Lord of the Rings, John Livingston Seagull, The Little Prince, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, and the Song of Ice and Fire series to name a few.

Movies/Shows: Stanley Kubrick movies, Lord of the Rings, There Will Be Blood, Fear and Loathing, most Dreamworks animated movies, and Twelve Angry Men. For shows, I am a huge fan of Rick and Morty, FLCL, Breaking Bad, and Game of Thrones.

Games: Metal Gear Solid (All of them), Undertale, Super Smash Bros, Dark Souls, CS:GO, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Bioshock (Infinite especially), Final Fantasy, and World of Warcraft.
The six things I could never do without
I could always do without if I had good reason to. Aside from necessities like food and shelter, a few things I would very much rather not do without would be:

Family
Friends
Perspective
Internet
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of my time thinking about how to better myself and grow professionally. I'm just at a point in my life where I feel extremely motivated to grow.

If I am relaxed, I think about education, themes and archetypes in shows, books, video games and other media, and how I would like to change the world for the better.
On a typical Friday night I am
I have been going out on most Fridays. I just like talking with people, and you meet some pretty interesting folks out here in Boulder.

If I'm not out, I am probably working on one of my work contracts and talking with friends online.
You should message me if
You got this far on my profile and you find yourself smiling internally or externally, but especially if you are smiling externally.

Also, if you are interested in the free Tae Kwon Do lesson, hit me up. I'm very willing to teach!
