Science and I get along very well. I get misty-eyed whenever I talk about the universe and love learning as much a possible about the human condition.
I love the outdoors just about as much as I love seafood. My personal mantra is, "Do unto others as you would do unto yourself," and have a soft spot for people who are genuinely curious about the world and it's inner workings.
I hope to one day spearhead the transformation of education systems in the US. I firmly believe in the act of creation, thoughtful stimulation, and the active development of wisdom as a tool for betterment over conformity and menial busywork like modern schools enforce. Being a martial artist in a serious manner teaches you many things, and I don't see how we can think our current system is effective.
I am a self-taught programmer who is able to make a profitable living off of it. I like to think that's pretty cool. You don't always need formal education if you have enough self discipline and know how to create a network.
Music: Queen, The Pillows, Gorillaz, Jack's Mannequin, Cage the Elephant, Nujabes, Explosions in the Sky, Immortal Technique, Rachmoninoff... the list goes on. I have extremely varied music tastes and will listen to just about anything once.
Books: Lord of the Rings, John Livingston Seagull, The Little Prince, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, and the Song of Ice and Fire series to name a few.
Movies/Shows: Stanley Kubrick movies, Lord of the Rings, There Will Be Blood, Fear and Loathing, most Dreamworks animated movies, and Twelve Angry Men. For shows, I am a huge fan of Rick and Morty, FLCL, and Game of Thrones.
Games: Metal Gear Solid (All of them), Undertale, Super Smash Bros, Dark Souls, CS:GO, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Bioshock, Final Fantasy. I love video games because of their ability to immerse you and tell a story, but haven't been focusing on them so much lately.
If I am relaxed, I think about education, themes and archetypes in shows, books, video games and other media, and how I would like to change the world for the better.
If I'm not out, I am probably working on one of my work contracts and talking with friends online.
Also, if you are interested in the free Tae Kwon Do lesson, hit me up. I'm very willing to teach!
