I wholeheartedly believe that we should be the personification of the change that we wish to see in the world. On the most basic level, I want to be a compassionate man who uses his mind and ideas to help others understand the power of perception and mindfulness.
I am the definition of a 'tech geek' and have been that way for my whole life. However, I was a nationally competitive track athlete in high school, have a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do, and love the outdoors. It's an odd combination, but I like to think it works.
You'd think that empathy skills wouldn't help much with coding, but it's just the opposite. I am that guy who you throw ideas at to have them create something tangible from nothing more than thought. Pretty cool stuff.
Other than that, I have writing projects and story ideas galore wrapped up in my head. I would like to aggregate a bunch of ideas together one day and write a full script for a video game or novel.
I like to think that I am an overtly talented writer, but I hardly get to sit down and do it any more because of work.
Also, I am pretty good at all kinds of games. I used to play a lot of strategy card games and play video games, so I have a natural tendency to see connections and ways to leverage situations.
Also, I was once told by a perfect stranger that I have, "Passionate and eager" eyes, and the only reason I am mentioning it because I thought it was strikingly accurate.
Games: Metal Gear Solid (All of them), Undertale, Super Smash Bros, Dark Souls, CS:GO, etc.
Books: Lord of the Rings, John Livingston Seagull, The Little Prince, The Hobbit, most of the books by Carlos Castaneda, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Harry Potter, and the Song of Ice and Fire series.
Movies: Stanley Kubrick movies (A Clockwork Orange is my favorite), Lord of the Rings, There Will Be Blood, 2001: A Space Odyssey, most Dreamworks animated movies, and Twelve Angry Men.
Music: Queen is my favorite band, but I am extremely open minded when it comes to music. I have been listening to M Ward, Cage the Elephant, Gorillaz, and Red Hot Chili Peppers a lot lately.
I could not live without the internet. I am an information junkie and love being able to just look something up to confirm or deny my thinking. I'm far too used to the convenience.
If I am not going out with coworkers, I am back at my apartment nerding out on something arbitrary like the semantic meaning behind Greek letters because I had a thought about them that day. Exciting, right?
