My self-summary
Me? I generally think of myself as your standard nerd. I engineer software, play video games, board games and D&D, watch sci-fi TV shows, read comic books. Personality-wise, I'm sarcastic, flippant, I like to think even witty. I'm arrogant some of the time, insecure others, still trying to find that happy middle ground.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a computer programmer. I bounced around some real jobs for a while, but was never quite happy with them. So now I'm taking a year or two to burn through my savings trying to live the indie game dev dream. Not sure I'll be successful, but it seems worth a try, and now seems like the best chance I'll have to give it a go.
I’m really good at
Trying new things. In the recent past I've tried blues dancing and dodgeball; before that, I dabbled in poi spinning, parkour and tried to learn to play the guitar. I'm thinking the next few things on my to-do list might be sketching and glowsticking, but something else might catch my fancy by then.

Video games. Y'know that "hard mode" option you always ignore? Yeah, that's how I roll. I live off the delicious victory earned by learning boss patterns and overcoming frustrating jumping puzzles. This has earned me funny looks on the bus, but y'know what? When you've just beaten the guy you've been fighting for a week, the boss who used to kill you in the first five seconds of the battle, you can't help but throw up the horns. It's mandatory.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Not necessarily my favorites of all time, but some samplings:

Books - Sanderson and Card: Mistborn, Ender's Game, Reckoners.

Movies - Avengers, How to Train your Dragon

Music - Teen girl pop/rock. Demi Lovato, T-Swift, Carly Rae (she did more than just Call Me Maybe, y'know!)

Food - Chicken Parmesan, Pot roast and mashed potatoes, Pizza

TV - Avatar: The Last Airbender; Firefly; Coupling

Video games - Final Fantasy (esp. Tactics, 9 and 5), Portal, Batman: Arkham Things, Hearthstone

Board games - Alien Frontiers, Dominion, Innovation
The six things I could never do without
The Internet.
Video games.
Serialized fiction.
On a typical Friday night I am
My D&D group meets Friday nights, which is kinda unfortunate. But alas, it's hard to find a time when five adults can reliably meet once a week, and for our particular group, it happened to be Friday.

Plus, D&D is awesome. There are way worse ways to spend a Friday night.
