My self-summary
Originally from Sonoma county, moved to humboldt for graduate school. But I'm not big on wine and I don't smoke weed. Find that ironic?

I’m an ambitious, straightforward guy. I rarely drink and I have never really been into the clubbing. I don’t do drugs and I don’t smoke. At most I enjoy a nice cigar a few times a year.
If I do go out with friends, I prefer it be something more intimate rather than yelling over headache inducing music. I love getting into deep topics with my friends, we used to have what we referred to as philosophical fridays!

I like to travel, but I don't do it nearly enough. I love being able to spontaneously go on a trip (big or small) to new and interesting places and would love to share it with someone.

I listen to music when I am cooking- I sing, I dance, kicks, jumps, high notes, low notes, it’s a whole show. I have some professional culinary training, so recipe/no recipe, breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert- I make it good. Once I get inspired and the mood strikes- I can cook up a storm!

I'm kinda crazy for Christmas. The music, the decorations, the food. Spending time with friends and family. Everything.

I was born and raised in the Catholic church. I still attend mass semi-regularly. But I don’t think I would identify with the typical “cradle catholic”. Since moving to a new place and going to grad school, my attendance at mass has gone down. Faith is something I hope to share with my future partner.
I am looking to share the most intimate and special of life experiences with that special someone, and if you feel the same way I’d like to hear from you.

I am an animal person, especially dogs.

I am not the type to play games, if I like someone I let them know. If you like someone, what is the point in wasting time trying to read one another's minds or playing games?

If you think you might be a good match for me, or if you nodded along to a bunch of this, send me a message.

What I’m doing with my life
Finished my Masters Degree- all done with school!

Right now I am working for County Mental Health, and logging hours for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
My job- I listen. I understand. I help.
I’m really good at
Cooking- it’s more than for survival! There is a big diff between a mashed potatoes and creamy garlic mashed potatoes that makes your eyes roll back in your head and go “mmmmmm”. Lol

Hobbies! I love hobbies- in the past I have been into carpentry, ceramics, knitting, creative writing, archery, and more! Once I get into a hobby I can get pretty good at it pretty quick. I’d love to get back into some of them.

Working out- I’m not Jack LaLane or The Rock or anything. I am not one of those gym rats grunting with each rep either. But I have made loads of progress on my personal fitness goals and I am not done yet! I would consider myself physically fit.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have noticed that people seem to feel pretty at ease talking to me, so I think I have a very open comforting vibe about me.
People think I'm younger than I actually am. Especially if I'm completely clean shaven.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Now that I don’t have to read textbooks I am still reading psychology books and articles. The Harry Potter books were part of my childhood. I love dystopian novels like 1984, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, The Hunger Games. And the Mercedes Thompson series.

Shows- Brooklyn nine-nine, x-files, friends, spin city, walking dead, flip or flop, once upon a time.

Movies- I will unashamedly profess my love of Rom-Coms! And I swear Disney is part of my family’s DNA! Other favorite movies include Multiplicity, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Wayne's World, My Cousin Vinny, 10 things I hate about you, The Breakfast Club.

Music: I was raised with a mom who is all about the country music, a dad who is all about the classic rock, sister who was all about the current music, and grandparents and extended family who were into everything from Frank and Dino, to Mozart and Beethoven. So I love everything!

Food: As we established, I rock the kitchen. I love comfort foods especially, maybe they just evoke memories of the holidays for me. I love BBQ as well- smoked pulled pork, or ribs mmmm!!!
Six things I could never do without
1) My family and friends- yes this is one thing, because my friends ARE my family, and my family have been my longest friends. They know me deeper than anyone (so far) and I trust them completely.
2) Humor! I love to laugh and I laugh alot!!! Humor is one of the main ways I communicate with my friends and family. I’m fluent in sarcasm
3) Inspiration- from the media- radio (yes I still listen to the radio), books, tv, movies, art. From nature- hiking, watching the sunset, stargazing.
4) Faith- Both as an adult and as a child I went through some tough times that really galvanized my faith. And my belief that everything really does happen for a reason.
5) Travel- even if it’s just a day trip
6) Physical activity- I can't do nothing all day long
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about what the next few month hold now that I am out of grad school and I am completely done with school.

I think about finding the woman that I want to spend the rest of my life with. The one that I will marry and have kids with.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends or family. I usually try to get something going with with a friend to do something fun over the weekend, like a river trip or just chillin.
You should message me if
You are a looking for something real and meaningful.
I don’t want someone who plays games. I may be a training to be a therapist, but I can't read minds and I don't expect you to either. If you are open and honest about your feelings, then we'll get along great.
I’m looking for someone who knows what they want out of life.
I am looking for someone who will make a relationship a priority when it gets serious.
The two of us
