My self-summary
Hi everyone! Let's start with the basics:

I play drums, work a little more than I should, but still somehow manage to live comfortably. I have weekends off for weekend warrioring, I love rock/metal music, am a huge video game/movie/cartoon/sci fi nerd.I definitely know how to kick a party into high gear, wherever, whenever, and with whomever.

I thrive on social situations and always try to see the best in people. We're all human, right? I firmly believe in positive thinking. If you're not moving forward with your life, you're moving backward, or losing ground to those who ARE moving forward. This is the general philosophy by which I live my life, and would love to talk more on the matter if you're curious and enjoy discussing such things.

Also, in case you couldn't tell yet, I'm unapologetically a huge dorkasaurus, which I've been told is better than being a huge dbag and that such people make these things cool for the masses, soooo maybe just a trend setter? I'll roll with it!

In an effort to impress any potential suitoresses out there, I do see myself as intelligent, funny, and DASHINGLY good looking of course... I'm assuming you're getting the joke, otherwise I'm not sure it's gonna work!

If you've made it through all that junk I've typed and still want to know more... you're in luck! I've got a whole profile still to read.

If not, feel free to turn away. Otherwise... courage.
What I’m doing with my life
First and foremost, I'm a drummer. I've taken many years of lessons, worked many music jobs, played in many bands, and do pretty well for myself now. You may have noticed my costuming habit, I currently play in a punk/folk/metal pirate band, The Bloody Seamen.

You should check them out here!!

This doesn't fully pay the bills YET, so when I'm not drumming I work as an attendant for a friend of mine with a disability. It's definitely not a job for everyone, but it pays well for what it is, and I get to feel like I'm really helping someone rather than being stuck in a corporate rat race.
I’m really good at
Killing it. ALL THE TIME.

But seriously....

Music, whether it's playing or writing, drumming or an instrument I'm just starting to figure out. Aptitude for the arts in general. Taking things apart and putting them back together. I'm also pretty good at talking to people, both on a professional and personal level.
The first things people usually notice about me
My striking, Viking-like stature. The hair, height, and my blue eyes seem to catch the most attention.

I'm also apparently a pleasant, decent human being and easy to talk to according to others' first impressions.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
- Movies:
I like just about anything, as long as it's quality, or if it's bad, at least so bad it's hilarious. I go from Star Wars to Paranormal Activity to Anchorman to What Dreams May Come and everything in between. Obviously super hero movies hold a special place in my heart!

- Music:
My traditional favorite genres have been hard rock and metal, but lately I've become more interested in indie bands, acoustic artists, folk artists, old school sea shanties, classical music, and anything that can expand my musical horizons. The bands Ghost and Red Fang are two good examples of recent discoveries that I love.

- Shows:
Mostly sci fi, animated, or super hero stuff. I love Archer, Futurama, Arrow, Trailer Park Boys, The Flash, The Simpsons, Cowboy Bebop, Full Metal Alchemist, Bob's Burgers, and American Dad to name a few things.

- Books:
Still keeping with sci-fi/fantasy, I have read series such as Harry Potter, LOTR, The Hunger Games, and the Star Wars EU books, but also like some more obscure stuff, like Philip Jose Farmer's Riverworld series, Frank Herbert's Dune (though that is pretty well known), and Isaac Asimov's Foundation series.

- Food:
Some favorites are Chinese, Indian, Thai, and/or a solid pizza joint, but I am honestly up for trying anything!
Six things I could never do without
Normal basic necessities for human survival aside:

- friends/family/professional and social network
-My cats Mjolnir and Gray Fox
-Smart phone (seriously, it sounds lame, but once you have it you can't go back)
-My dreams, goals, ambitions, and aspirations; something to work towards, a reason for persevering everyday
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Honestly the main thought right now is, "I'm 31 and happy with what I've accomplished, but we need to speed this along some."
On a typical Friday night I am

Quite frankly anything can happen, typical is non-existent. Could be at the movies, could be road tripping, could be at a convention type event, could be bar hopping, could be playing some sort of musical thing, you get the idea.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That I was totally the nose picker in 2nd grade. It wouldn't have been such a big deal but the teacher felt the need to make an example of me to the class.

Consequently I did not like this teacher, but after seeing him years later I did realize he was, in fact, a douchebag. But hey, no more nose picking, am I right?
You should message me if

Lastly... if you've managed to read down to this point, kudos to you!! I appreciate you taking the time to find out more about this curious person known as myself. I hope if nothing else I made your time killed on the internet a bit more enjoyable than had you not read this :D
