Music, film, painting, theater keep my creative sensibilities fed. Photography is my main artistic and professional mainstay. Although I’m city born and love it here, particularly Brooklyn, I am very happy to camp in the backwoods, kayaking, snowboarding being by the ocean.
The love of stories – hearing them and telling them, is a big part of me. I’ve done that in photography, books, and film, but I’d just as soon hear one told to me as tell my own. Even better is to swap those tales over great food. Cooking is both a pleasure and renewing ritual and good eating is the just reward. I grow some of the ingredients in my Brooklyn garden, a cool little hideaway that brings the elements a little closer amidst all the hard city edges.

Food is life. I am a happy omnivore. Big on Chinese via the 3 NYC Chinatowns. Increasingly, the ripe fruits and vegetables of the season. A perfect tomato or peach is equal to the best of any food.
