My self-summary
I'm a Minnesota transplant to San Diego, coming up on eight years. A real walking cliche of Minnesota Nice.

I'm a closet geek, I have a fascination for science and technology. Honestly, I have a passion for pretty much everything outside of basket-weaving. I know I just disappointed a lot of basket-weaving enthusiasts.
What I’m doing with my life
I am Director of Product Development at a local startup, which is just a fancy title for sitting at a computer solving progressively more difficult algebra problems.

Remember when your sixth grade math teacher said you might need it, I was that kid that yelled, "when the hell am I ever going to do this?" You win this round, Mrs. Flannery.

Outside of that I like to travel, recently went skydiving, and work on side projects in my spare time.
I’m really good at
Charming people. I'm a nice guy, which seems to be a little less common out here. I hold the door for strangers and say hello to people on the street.

Also, I hand out golden coins with my likeness to the homeless. They get a little upset when they find out it's just chocolate. The chocolate is really good, though, so it all works out.
The first things people usually notice about me
My tattoos and my sense of humor. I tell absurd jokes and engage in witty conversation. I like puns more than any reasonable person should.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite book was The Brothers Karamazov. I have yet to read a book since that affected me as strongly. Some other contenders are Fight Club, Slaughterhouse Five, and Dune.

Braveheart is my favorite movie, cliche or not. Good Will Hunting, The Matrix, and Oldboy are a few others that I really enjoyed.

I listen to so much music it is tough to nail down a favorite. Right now I am listening to Wale, Lupe Fiasco, La Roux, The Ting-Tings, and Rebirth. I am obsessed with New Orleans jazz at the moment.
The six things I could never do without
Friends and information, I think I could manage with just that.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything. Politics, religion, social issues, groceries, how they moved the stone heads on Easter Island. I really like to think, which sounds a bit redundant.

I am a very curious guy, I like to learn new things and see how it changes my perspective.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends, catching up on shows, rescuing children from burning orphanages and solving crimes with a blind detective.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm the guy that would wait in line to get an iPad.
You should message me if
You are easy-going, curious, and can entertain ridiculous questions with a straight face.

Or if you can hit anything, and I mean anything, with a boomerang.
